Anime & Manga Thread v.4 FAQ/IRC: See OP. Thread over. Move onto v.5

Get new computers. Faggots.

the repeating text cut scenes that served no focus other than over-stylization to make it seem deeper kind of annoyed me.

yeahh, and there is nothing like nadesico anymore:( Mecha hasn’t been the same, but I think it can be revived.

They’re just pages from the books.

I know, but it staggered the pace. It was a good try, but we know it’s translated from the book already, didn’t need to be redundant. That’s just a little complaint though. As a whole it was good.

Haha, when I read ‘pretentious’ used to describe Bake I really felt like I was on /a/.

dude I barely even use that word since it’s so overused to label things! at least we don’t go on about x waifu in here hahah

I dont understand how people can watch streams, you cant make out the action in any anime in a stream, its frustrating.

Good call. I knew the show was gonna be junk from the get-go with the first episode yet still finished it anyway, smh [C].

Anyway those text flashes in Bakemonogatari was only ever there to give the episode’s title card a little dramatic effect really. They go by way too fast to be readable in real-time and you can’t pause on live-TV anyway (perhaps it was even meant to help drive up BR/DVD sales so then you can pause it lol). I personally saw it as a nice little nod to the original source material and for things that they wanted to include in the anime but couldn’t due to time restraints, but with that said i can see how people would get annoyed by it too lol.

This conversation and point comes up every few months in these threads. The smarter folk (i.e. the people that watch current anime) know that anime, in general, is shit or mediocre and you have to sift through a lot of that garbage to find good stuff. Anime was just as shitty back then as it is now, but now that anime is more popular, there appears to be more shit but the ratio of bad to good is pretty much the same.

Sadly this point cannot be reached with those obsessed with MANIME because they’re all mouth breathing neaderthals stuck in the past and still beating rocks together to make fire.

Just another day in the anime thread.

ax ax lol

finally back. fucking awesome trip. now more than ever do i want to work on my backlog of animu/mango and listen to JP music and fap to VNs/eroges

got like a thousand pics to go through though lol

can’t count how many times i heard people shout “YOU JUST LOST THE GAME” at AX. but aside from that, no V masks, anonymous cosplayers, or rickroll boomboxes (that I found). people were a little more creative, like that giant fucking longcat carried around through the halls.
edit: actually its not creative, but just something you don’t see people taking the effort to do~

Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down…never gonna turn around and desert youuu~

That goes perfect with your av.

OHANA HAS A CUTE BUTT

And Karina of Tiger and Bunny has the craziest DSL’s I’ve seen in agessssssssssssssss

It’s all relative anyways and the markets both in Japan and North America (pretty much anywhere else) is dominated by the recent cultural trends. Genre’s that were popular back in the 80’s-90’s don’t really fly nowadays and I sure as hell wouldn’t expect the popular genre’s nowadays to fly back in the 80’s-90’s as well.

Most people who got into anime came into it during the late 90’s early 2000’s where companies were licensing mostly ‘quality’ titles so a lot of these people have preconceived notions that anime during that time period was godlk and that anime nowadays has gone to shit. What they don’t understand is that these companies have already filtered the shit for them because the market was very experimental at the time so there baseline is so skewed it’s not even funny.

Spring season was ok, easily better than winter season. I actually enjoyed a few shows. Mainly Soft Tennis and Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa nai.

Well now, the summer season is well underway. I am going to get this out the way first. Ro-Kyu-Bu! gets a complete fucking pass from any and all of my criticism. I fucking helped hyped this show cause of spats and basketball and I will watch the whole thing for said spats and basketball.

Kamisama no Memo-chou was boring as hell. Took like 35 minutes for the actual mystery angle to really manifest itself. The main character spent the entire episode acting all mopey about his situation and the most of side characters are lame.

Blood-C was pretty dull too but I can put with the dullness if it can put up some nice action periodically.

Ikoku Meiro no Croisée was meh. I might just wait till the show over then marathon it later on a boring day or something.

Sacred Seven was pretty cliche ridden but easily had the best action of any anime that’s gonna premiere this season so I’ll stick with it. The episode seemed bit rushed but since it basically wanted to get the hook of the show out there I’ll take it. Hopefully it bog itself down by having stupid ass angst everywhere and just immerses itself in all of its ridiculous setting so the show can be fun and be funny.

Rosario 43: Let me guess. Next, each member of the group will stay and fight some big bad on their own so the group can move on. Finally, when it’s down to Tsukune by himself, he’ll face the current boss. He’ll barely win, but somehow the big threat will be revived with Moka inside. Tsukune then use the power of love to defeat the real final boss.

I hope it’s not this predictable, but it probably will be.

Oh. It was messed up cause dominos put the “s” at the end and not at the front. Man. Worked has screwed up my life and my “lol senses.”
