He’s too one-dimensional and falls into a ton of anime cliches. It makes for a boring protagonist. I don’t hate the character but I don’t really care for him either.
I just finished Initial D S4…holy shit I don’t know anything about cars besides the basics but it’s still easily in the top3 best anime I’ve ever seen everything about it is simply perfect. It has an amazing cast of fleshed out characters, incredibly clever dialogue, suspenseful action, it’s really funny, turns countless anime conventions on their head, and the logic behind people’s ideas and motivations are plausible. I think Hollywood should be taking notes from Initial D.
I never really watched a lot of anime I just thought stuff like Berserk or Cowboy Bebop were the exception to the rule and that 90% of anime was complete trash, and while I still kind of think that way I’m beginning to understand there’s a lot more good stuff out there than I initially thought.

I have sadly fallen behind in Zetman. Is it even worth catching up on to anybody watching?
Zetman is… okay. Kind of cool but the pace is pretty slow. The main character, Jin, is pretty much the Squall from FFVIII character archetype, so he’s not terribly interesting. For some reason one girl has braces… which is unheard of in anime.

Decided to try to watch the dub, managed to bear with it until Mugi showed up. Felt an incredible urge to murder before I switched to Japanese.
People who watch dubs should have their dvds snapped and forced fed to them.

Anyway, I was reluctant to watch Hyouka but sat down through it with my girl. We both enjoyed it even with the pointless weird scenes with the animation studio showing off how much money they can waste on strange scenes since they know that fans will hurl money at them no matter what. She is really digging that Kids on the Slope to, I would have thought it to slow for her but thank god for the decent romance in it and lack of dumb anime cliches.
Which unfortunately Jorgamund is full of. Fuck that show is getting one more viewing from me. Was gonna get her to watch it sinc she loves Black Lagoon but it is looking to be a major waste of time. With it’s fake ass wannabe Mel opening song. Get that shit outta here clowns.
Yea there’s a lot of good stuff out there if you look for it. Enjoy the eternal wait for Stage 5.

What makes him so different from any other character that’s exactly the same way ? I really don’t get it he’s not the first character to be like this yet he getting shit on. Perfect example would be the lead from Mirai Nekki.

Usually I’d agree but, dub for Initial D was great, wayyyy better than jap voices.
Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and Berserk dubs were pretty good too. Dub for Full metal alchemist was okay.
Man the Valkyria Chronciles III OVA’s were pretty good. I’d like to a see a full blown anime adaptation since we will probably never see the game hit stateside.
i read a bunch of the jormungand manga series but had to stop because i realized i was speed reading through it just to find something that would make me care about anything that was going on.
if the jormungand show is anything like the manga then yeah i wouldnt expect anything more than B-movie quality stuff. the story goes like this: tits, guns, killing, more guns, tits, lots of guns and killing, anime lesbians are cool.
I dunno, that’s quite possibly the best ending he could ever get after all what he did. I don’t think anyone felt sympathy towards his character; and I’d be surprised if there is someone who does.
