Anime & Manga Thread v.4 FAQ/IRC: See OP. Thread over. Move onto v.5

Not sure about the destruction of space and time since…well, the whole concept of multiple worlds and time warping is convoluted as it is. But as for the context of best ending…that was if he won the whole thing. Would it be fair for him to get a happy ending after all he did?

The world that they are on gets destroyed if there isn’t a god-- the world where most of the series took place blew up when deus died and they had to jump ship.

My point is the world where Yuno and Yukki were going to kill themselves simulanteously after they had won the tourney-- it was like if you bought into a lottery for ten people, you win and you burn the money. WHY DID YOU EVEN ENTER IN THE FIRST PLACE?

Also, Yukki deserves a happy ending after all that he did? What, exactly, did he do? The story followed him around because he was the central figure, but *every other character in the series was better than him. *The only one you might say wasn’t would have been that guy that guy in the mask that was murdering people at with a machete. Look at how fucked up everyone else’s stories were, while Yukki’s was that his dad was an asshole but his mom was fantastic?

Have they even bothered to explain this in the side stories or even in the manga itself? Because I never did get that part when watching the series. Then again, during the last few episodes, almost everything is messed up and makes no sense.

Exactly. That’s why the only outcome he should get is a bad one; because he’s done more harm than good.

Oh, I misunderstood you. Since you are so nice all the time I thought you were defending him.

I think they both died the first time because they were crazy.

At first I was like, “What normal people do that?”

Then I was like, lol “Me!”

I think Yukiteru and the Kousaka siblings in OreImo are the only protagonists in anime that I vehemently dislike. I’m surprised myself, since I rarely find a character to invoke that strong of an emotion; unless I forgot someone else.

That or the mangaka was running out of ideas at the time.

lol. It’s normal for anyone to have sexual fantasies. You’d be weird if you DIDN’T.

Hyouka 02. Damn cliffhangers.

Oh and who the fuck even goes to draw the back display on them digital clocks. Shit’s so unheard of, wtf.

I find it sad that KyoAni has enough money to animate the back display on digital clocks but won’t do another FMP anime. RIP FMP. :frowning:

KyoAni likes to piss away money on the silliest shit sometimes.

When are they going to make a new K-ON?
Don’t they know some people’s live revolve around it?
Somebody is going to highjack a bus full of school girls and not release them until a new season is made. Mark my words.

Did the movie come out?

Fate/Zero ED2 single is out. The song is just as beautiful as it sounds in the ED.

RIP FMP. It makes zero business sense for them (more so Kadokawa than KyoAni, since they’re the IP holder) to go back and animate FMP, especially now that the novels are done and are old hat. There’s not much point in trying to push the sales of a waning franchise, not when newer and fresher series have a better chance in hitting big. The only hope FMP has is if there’s enough love from the staff to make it happen regardless of anything else.

K-ON movie has already aired. It’s just stuck on disc release limbo, only to be followed by fansub hell lol.

Yup, couldn’t even make it thru the cg car infested stupidity that is Jorgumandr or how ever you spell this shit. This show fails where shows like Black Lagoon and even GSC shine, and tries to cover it up with too much lame anime tropes. That and the random gun shit that really doesn’t haven’t much bearing to the plot, it’s just more there to make it seem like shit is realistic and the author knows the least bit about guns which it seems he doesn’t. Should have sticked to making us care or identify with his cookie cutter characters.

dam guild wars 2 beta was so fucking good, i started playing gw1 again, so i am behind on anime, time to catch up!

I’m glad there’s a page1 guide, but wikipedia synopses don’t tell me much about the show’s quality, so I’ve been checking out the 5 star reviews and reading random ones to see which catch my interest. This guy gave one of my favorite animes Initial D 3 stars but generally he seems to know his shit and explains in depth why he likes or doesn’t like something so I think his word is credible.

Anyways Serial Experiments Lain sounds exactly like the psychological mystery anime I’ve been looking for and East of Eden sounds cool too. I started watching Hellsing I’m on episode 7 it’s a well done conventional anime but the GDLKE atmosphere and universe it sets up far exceeds the quality of the episodes…I don’t know maybe it gets better.

All suggestions for this anime newbie are welcome, if it helps my favorites are Berserk, Death Note, Initial D, and Cowboy Bebop. And I have no interest in manga just anime.

Bleach and Naruto Shippuden have incredibly entertaining fights, and the overarching drama has moments of greatness but there are so many filler/boring episodes and way too many characters that it’s barely worth enduring.

If you think ID was good, that just mean you’ve yet to see the really good shows… ID is hella repetitive and the characters are boring as fuck.

Lain is a very good show according to a bunch of people, and another friend told me Hellsing Ultimate >>> Hellsing.

While Black Rock Shooter doesn’t have an enticing story, the fight scenes were pretty awesome. Or maybe that’s just me because I love the way iBRS don’t give a fuck about what happens.

maybe im just biased as fuck because i love cars…but how the fuck was initial D repetitive and boring?..

Maybe you’re right about me not seeing “the really good shows” but of the anime I’ve seen thus far the cast from ID are the most well developed. I got a real sense of who they are and why they are the way they are instead of getting the one dimensional cardboard cutouts Hollywood provides so much of. Also the action was very suspenseful, like after the first few races I really wasn’t sure of who Takumi would lose to. I don’t know much about cars but damn the strategy element really got me hooked.

Hellsing is a great show I’m just saying the world it creates hints at being capable of more then cookie cutter action anime, although ep8 was a big jump in quality.

I also really liked Claymore, some cheesy moments and some of the drama fell flat but overall the fighting was great and it was really sad at times.
