Honestly I was just looking through the list of anime I watched this year and he was the first character that popped in my head. For worst character I really just go by characters I dislike. Regardless of his importance to the plot I just think he’s a douche. If I stopped and thoroughly refreshed my memory I’m sure I can actually think of far worse characters this year. The bad dude from Sacred Seven comes to mind.
What is the recommended/definitive Macross series to watch? I notice that many of the series are compilation movies or OVAs.

Macross 7 is okay, but I found it a bit hard to get into.

Well every movie it has had a rewritten story and new animation(half-new in Macross F’s case). DYRL is NOT the same as the original series, it just shares the important details
