It’s pretty decent, IMO. Wouldn’t say it’s a waste of time, unless the cast annoys you from the 1st few episodes.

• So it’s Sakamoto’s fault that he got the Renho to invade Earth, just to get in some good trade. Smart guy!
• They infiltrate the Renho base by wearing Elizabeth costumes too…except Shinpachi who they just got him to wear makeup.
• NES cartridges and rice seem to be the Renho’s favorite delicacy. Except the higher ups get the coveted Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest SNES carts.
• While Gintoki, Katsura and Sakamoto refuse to go any lower when it comes to their culinary cartridges, the Double Dragon generals orders their cronies to attack…only to be protected by “Eren”, who may or may not be Elizabeth.
• Dark Vader finally shows the ace up his sleeve and why they’re called the White Devils…they have Gundams!

Next week: Space battles! And the samurai trio beating up some duck costumed aliens.

I wanted a good laugh so I thought I would read some reviews for Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon.

From the first episode, we have a near infinite amount of character archetypes in battle suits introduced. The plot for this first episode was that episode of Naruto where the faggot with white hair touches Naruto’s anus while reading a book.

The main character is introduced in the last two minutes of the show. He is not a bro, and he skips school to buy eroge. Essentially the biggest kind of loser on the planet. Seriously.

The cast is nothing but a huge number of eccentrically dressed cardboards. So many of them and they are all stock material you can find everywhere. Nobody is fleshed out, nobody stands out, nobody even seems to matter in the longrun. All the girls have these ridiculous round things that seem more like balloons rather than breasts. And those hairstyles, my God, how do they even manage to walk with hair three times their total body size? As for the guys, this is a world where you are forced to dress as bizarre as possible. Not that this manages to make anyone stand out in the crowd; they are all still cardboards. The main character in particular has the most annoying face and you just want to punch him two seconds after you stare at him. And what the hell are those threads hanging from his head supposed to be? I may not care about the characters but I definitely hate him.

Gonna torture my brain by watching the second episode and take a shot every time there is a failed attempt at either humor or drama. The liquor should stave off any urges to take my drillmaster to my eye sockets.

Horizon is pretty ass. First episode was just okay, but the second episode was just a big confusing mess.

That being said, I am betting someone out there is reading this an expecting me to sit through 9 episodes of shit in a 12-13 episode series so I can get to one part where they think something “EPIC” will happen.

You’re not gonna understand Horizon from watching subs.

1. The back story and world setting is super dense, and unless you have read the original novels, the only way you will figure out is by reading footnotes released on the original homepage for the anime.
2. You need to have knowledge of Japanese history to considerable extent.
3. If you are watching subs, they are most likely heavily mistranslated due to combination of odd use of Japanese language plus the two aforementioned points.

So yea, in short, most people outside Japan won’t understand it.

Also, I dunno why all subbers are listing it as ‘Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon’. This is clearly incoherent way of phrasing out the words. It should be ‘Kyoukaisinjou no Horizon’ or ‘Koyukaisen-jou no Horizon’.

What’s not a given is all the goddamn “watch this to understand this” references the first 4 episodes provide the viewer with. To me it made sense eventually, Toori was in love with Horizon, Horizon was hit by a horse, everybody’s sad. But then why is everybody sad? Because everybody loved her? Okay…oh wait, she’s ALSO THE FUCKING DAUGHTER OF THE GODDAMN RULER OF MIKAWA! Which is only the capital of the far east.

Well that sucks, Toori ends up clearly being psychologically maimed by the event, or at least decides he’s going to totally avoid dealing with it or who knows why he’s such a fucking dick it doesn’t matter right now. The real issue is that Motonobu Matsudaira, who is the aforementioned ruler of Mikawa, is a genius who creates these super powerful weapons for the other nations. Kind of like distributing nukes to all the major world powers. Then he secretly makes another one cause that dude knows these niggas ain’t gonna be happy owning just one divine nuke respectively. Matsudaira reveals this, as well as outing himself as a raving lunatic, and then drops the dime on P-01S outing her as the leaving final nuke, which promptly leads to her getting snatched up K.P.A. Italia who, likely due to the Pope has a lot of influence worldwide…[/details]
