so what are the payouts for cash prizes?
I’m glad you asked because I have good news in that department. While it really depends on how many entrants we get, DAICon is supplying our tournament with up to $200 in prize support; but really, they are allowing us to take what we make in Venue fees and put it towards prizes. In other words, we’re going to be using the venue fee to help with prizes because it’s covered for up to forty players. So it is a $5 entry fee (Which all oes to prizes) for each tourney, $5 venue fee one time (200 will go to prizes), but depending on how many players enter the tourneys there will be decent pay outs for most people. I know it sounds a but unwashed, but I promise that we’re working with what we can to make sure that players all have a good experience and trying to give those who get far to go home with something. I want to pay out more players that perform well rather than just 70% %20 %10. I’ll try and make it something similar to Keit’s idea to pay out top 10% of players. (But you never know how many will show to these things) So it all depends on the entrants. And I know an extra $200 isn’t a lot more, but hey, it’s more.

Preparing my body for this weekend
might be the first tournament i go to in awhile… seems like its going to be a fun one.
We’ll have free play setups and lots of games in the tourney. Plus there will be a big anime con right below us. It will be fun! I hope lots of people make it. 
So do you have to register on the site or can you just pay in person on Saturday?

Ahhh, I really need to find someone to dual mod my stick or get off my lazy butt and do it myself, always end up having to borrow my friends Q4RAF and I don’t like that stick very much at all. PS3 always seems to be the standard for these things ( surprising actually, considering all the flack it gets )

quick question about the convention: hows the anime scene in davis? I work with a student enrichment and anime club in Laney college from Oakland. We’re planning to go up to davis and sell some prints. we’re hoping to see a lot of people there.
There’s no pre registration for the tourney. We’ll have sign ups from 10-12pm and start at 1pm.
I’m glad to see people from Sac coming out. We at Davis are practicing up for this thing!
Our Treasurer for the club does dual modding! He just recently modded my MadCatz VS. It’s working great. I can introduce you at the Con if you want or you can message him here on SRK. If not just come by, it will be a lot of fun.
I know that for the Anime Club’s meetings they get around 50 people. The Con has a goal to get at least 500 people to come. Based on the FB invite page and outside interest, I think it’s very doable. Hope that helps

This should ALWAYS be the case no matter what place you plan to play at.
We’re going to have around 8 setups! That makes 4 for tournament play, 1 for the main stage, and 3 for casuals.
And everyone should bring their own stick/pad to any event, this one or whatever. That’s just an unwritten rule in my opinion
going to try and bring some guys out from the manteca area. Hopefully they don’t bail out cause I want to make this happen.
Just a reminder to all that this will be a PS3 event. I was told by a friend that I probably should have made that more clear in the ads.
