Don’t be so nosy! British photographer gets close and personal to Africa’s wildlife (and some really know how to hog the limelight)
This attention seeker really nose how to hog the limelight.
The Zimbabwean warthog is among a host of wild animals photographed by British photographer Dale Morris as he journeyed from tip to toe of Africa in search some of the continent’s nosiest inhabitants.
From Robert the warthog to a laughing ostrich and friendly Bushmen, these pictures show Africa up-close and personal.
When David Eyley found his beloved hamster limp and seemingly lifeless in his box, he decided to do the decent thing.
After waiting a few hours to make sure his four-year-old pet was dead, he buried him in a box down a two-foot hole in the garden.
But the next day he was startled to receive a call from a neighbour, saying she had seen the hamster scurrying around outside.

Like a mantis needs a bicycle? Incredible close up shot of a praying mantis in Borneo makes viewers double take
This is the incredible snapshot that appears to show an insect riding off into the sunset on a bicycle.
Amateur macro photographer Eco Suparman, 23, was amazed when the praying mantis he was photographing in Indonesia jumped up onto a curled plant - and looked just like he was pedalling away into the sunset.
Eco, from Borneo, Indonesia, had already noticed the plant, but was more interested in photographing the bug nearby up-close, when by an incredible stroke of luck, the insect decided to ‘go for a ride’.
Getting tyred?: The praying mantis balances on the curled-up fern, giving the impression he is hunched over the handlebars of a rather splendid, or should we say spoketacular, green bicycle
But which came first? ‘Turkey-like’ dinosaur is found surrounded by its eggs in Argentina
A mother dinosaur found in Argentina who died just as she gave birth is an entirely new species of dinosaur that resembled flightless birds.
The 70-million-year-old fossil was surrounded by eggs - which were fertilised and highly developed, and the discovery could be key to understanding how dinosaurs evolved into birds.
The dinosaur, Bonapartenykus ultimus, would have been around eight feet long.

You’d think he would’ve p-p-p-picked up on the signals, but this gormless penguin remained completely oblivious as a group of friendly poproises tried in vain to get his attention.
The black and white bird was in an enclosure at the Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, near San Francisco, when four porpoises flocked around the glass of their tank.
But as they all focused their attentions on the little fellow he continued to waddle around completely unaware that they were behind him.
Green with envy! The Kung-Fu frog who’s desperate to take after martial arts great Bruce Lee
Meet Bruce Leap - the Kung Fu Fighting amphibian.
The angry red-eyed tree frog - native to the rainforests of Central America - lashed out with his right leg - mimicking Bruce, Lee, the martial arts great.
With his left foot firmly planted on a sunkissed log, the frog lifted his right leg and wildly kicked out - just as amateur snapper Shikhei Goh began taking pictures.
I thought that the golden eagle was beast, this guy picks up multiple fish in one try. Then he picks up a fish that thinks it’s hidden dives into water and shakes water off like a doggy. And also rides another fish like a skateboard in the air.

Trapped: The big leopard stole dinner from the 27 strong pack, and ran up a tree as they stampeded towards her. She was stuck at the top of the tree for two hours as the dogs circled beneath her
At the end of the two hours, only one lone wild dog stayed on in an attempt to reclaim the carcass - but even he gave up and retreated when it was clear the leopard was prepared to stay up their all night
Coast is clear: The leopard spent the rest of the day in the tree, gnawing away on what remains there were before climbing back down the branches when she was full
Don’t play with your food: What happened when a leopard befriended a cute baby antelope? (Actually, you probably don’t want to know)
It may look like one of nature’s heartwarming interactions but the outcome, sadly, is not a happy one.
This at first apparently playful encounter between leopard and newborn steenbok (part of the antelope family) was captured by a safari guide in the Sabi Sand Game reserve, in South Africa.
The big cat seemed to want to make friends with the calf for 45 minutes and the small creature was so unafraid of the predator it even tried to suckle milk from it.

The calf’s terrified mother was powerless to intervene and stop the baby being killed and eaten
The leopard eventually got bored and killed the calf, which was only hours old [/details]
Etna, erupted for the seventh - and without doubt the most spectacular - time this year today, spewing forth molten lava hundreds of metres into the air.
Residents living close by were covered in hot ash but Europe’s tallest and most active volcano didn’t seem to pose any threat to human safety.
Local inhabitants of the Sicilian town of Catania were grateful that Etna at least didn’t close the local airport as it did last month, preventing a visiting Serie A football team from leaving the island.
