Yeah that dude is really messed up in the head. It is obvious that he enjoyed hitting his daughter, and real talk the mom seems like she enjoyed it as well. It is apparent that this happens on a regular basis in that house, and him being a judge, I would imagine that he would have taken a more tactful and less abrasive approach to his daughter.
I remember my dad would beat my ass, waaaaaay past the point of acceptable discipline, and would brag about it to his friends. So though I got that, I still think it is not normal. Her parents have not earned that title.

I got that too. My dad was creative with it. He had a belt specifically for goin in on me, billy club, fists, the whole nine. I have a daughter and the most she gets is pop her but with a wooden spoon, but since I don’t have the technique down, she looks at me and walks away, or just takes the spoon from me. Which tells me that disciplining her by physical means is not for me.

Let me know when a topic is made with real abuse, when a parent is beating their kid with a phonebook (leaves no marks) or getting thrown through screen doors (like my friend’s father did to him when I was middle school).
