Yep it’s true. Trump supporters are in a cult where they literally blind themselves to reality and listen to cassette tapes of speeches played by their cult leader all night. They’re definitely not supporting him because they enjoy trifling things like a booming economy that creates jobs and pushes wages up.
We can give Trump credit where credit is due. If Obama did the same things, Democrats would think he was the greatest POTUS to hold the office. However, if it comes at a cost of extreme idealistic tribalism and tearing down the fabric of common sense, then it’s not worth it.
I think you could have gotten a better economy on more sustainable grounds from any other candidate. What does the chair of the Fed have to say about the current economy? Hint: “unsustainable”. The reasons for “growth” are horrible.
Trump being a great economic leader, which he is not - he’s robbing the public - still wouldn’t excuse his assault on reality. Policy and discussions need to start from a basis of reality and science or politics become discoherent. As they are now.
On what grounds would we feel Trump-as-Obama as the greatest? Obama already did better on more sustainable economic grounds. Of course the Trump administration lies about this because frankly anybody still listening to them and believing is going to believe anything. Flagrant disregard for the truth and ethics seem frightening to me.

Also Trump inherited one of the BEST economies ever for a POTUS where the only thing he needed to fix was the ACA. Again he may say he didn’ but he really did in again that thing called reality. The problem is that the Republicans are in charge of Congress. The only time Republicans believe something is a crime is if Democrats do it. If a Democrat did not do it, then it’s time to talk about something a Democrat might have done. Remember the ferocious zest with which we pursued Hillary. And turned up nothing. Now you have a smoking gun of current obstruction of justice by the President… where are the Republicans?

The alcohol lobby is one of the things that stands in the way of drugs being legalized. Nevermind the fact that the US is a puritanical country when it comes to stuff like this, but there’s also money being exchanged to make sure that alcohol is the only legal shit people get a buzz on.
