Mexico need to fix its shit. Yes I blame the country for failing to help its own people that want to leave. By proxy I also blame the US for enabling their country to fall apart. Close the borders and screen everyone and help make sure if people want to get in itâs just as fair as any other race.
They (Democrats and those that prosper from this situation) favor open borders because those poor latin countries will suck on the teat of the government thus will promote a larger wellfare state which comes out of the pockets of honest US people. This will keep the cycle going and its not fair to those here who came in honestly.
My family came in fair from Mexico. My GFâs family came in fair from Thailand. So can everyone else regardless of race.

The situation in Central and South America is partly because of the US sticking its grubby fingers in the pie in those areas for decades because of the war on drugs and the red scare. I wouldnât put all the blame on the US, but maybe those countries wouldâve been better off isolated from the US if we didnât get involved.

White people from Europe or Scandinavia donât want to come to the US, they have it good where they are. So of course Immigration is targeting brown people from shitty places, theyâre the only ones coming here.
How is it ass backward? Seeking asylum has a specific process and comes with a list of requirements. Sounds like recently a lot of these illegals being caught then invoke asylum to buy time.
According to government metrics, there were 464 people granted asylum from mexico. Pew research says there are 500 million illegal immigrants living in country. So highly doubtful all these families being separated are refugees escaping persecution, seems more like they are claiming asylum only after being caught to buy time and get legal help. Again, not fair to everyone else who wants to enter the united states to better their lives but canât

- legalize drugs - the high price of drugs is due to the illegal nature. the high risk causes high price. make it legal, now corporations can swoop in, and with their economies of scale eliminate the drug lords with no blood shed. with drug lords gone, this will go a long way toward making south american countries not shitholes
- once druglords are eliminated via capitalism, USA aid wonât be wasted on these countries. cause right now these countries are very high on corruption index, so any aid will likely fall into wrong hands
- throw business owners who employ illegal immigrants in jail

on another topic, on fb one of my left wing friends posted something along the lines of the union ruling by the supreme court to be the worst anti union ruling ever. curious i googled it
so apparently, people who donât want to be part of a union donât have to pay fees. this seems pretty sensible to me. my dad, who came from shithole communist china (this was pre-capitalism prosperity), was shocked when he found out he had to pay union dues at boeing as a software developer. he said something along the lines of: âi thought usa was anti communism???â. my wife who is also from communist china and who still has her communist party membership card from when she was a student, was also pissed that she had to pay union dues at university of washington even though she was already making minimum wage as an RA and the union was doing bullcrap like diversity sensitivity training.
if unions are useful, people will want to pay the dues and be a member. if unions are stupid, then nobody will want to be a part of it and good riddance. the ruling is only anti union if nobody wants to be part of the damn unions, and iâm pretty sure most people donât want to be a part of the damn unions. except maybe my high school biology teacher, who could not be fired for incompetence despite numerous parent petitions.

I love paying my union dues. All they do is try to make sure we get the best bang for our buck during bargaining agreements. Canât hate on that.

Did you read the Three Body Problem? Thereâs a long-term plan on the part of one party to lull the other party into complacency, and then once their guard is down the plan is to fuck the other party slowly to death. Business vs unions. Unions exist to make themselves unnecessary, but that doesnât make them any less vital of a defense of the working class in a rabidly capitalist society.
I get that everybody has forgotten why unions exist because things were generally good, and now theyâre still mostly kinda good, but read your fucking history. Corporations exist to extract profit, not to treat you right.

11 million / 2 != 500 million, its ~ 5 million. i was off by orders of magnitude. still from the pdf i linked from DHS, the # of actual asylum granted to mexico is still only in the hundreds. From el salvador the number is greater. I would be ok with increasing that number because el salvador is fucked up, and usa/cia is responsible for it.

if unions are good, then people will voluntarily pay their union dues. if people donât want to be a member they shouldnât be forced to be. in countries with awful working conditions that the usa is outsourcing to, absolutely there should be labor unions to prevent sweat shops. or better yet just go after the companies that outsource manufacturing to those countries. some jobs such as construction workers where there is risk of injury would make sense to have unions protect the workers. but teacher union? nah fuck that noise. or those police unions that happily protect trigger happy cops that shoot up unarmed black people? NOPE.

Vilifying unions ignores the fact that thereâs usually some reason for why theyâre doing things. Itâs amazing to just throw somebody under the bus, but ⌠you also need consistent rules and guidance for behaviors as opposed to knee-jerk reactions. It is complicated bullshit at times, but thereâs a reason why things are typically handled in any given way. Process can be a son of a bitch when you just want quick solutions.
