American Government Thread 2: RIP John McCain, 81

We’ll never get strong 3rd party candidates…but that’s how the Republicans and Democrats want it to be. The harder the swing one eay, it will just swing back again the other. Nothing changes.

the duopoly has helped stacked things against third party candidates. I remember hearing Ron Paul saying he had spend almost half his life savings just to get on the ballots. And 3rd party candidates aren’t show on polls unless they reach a popularity percentage that’s higher than those required for republican and democrat candidates.

In 2020 when there is another countrywide election we can get another true idea of where each county lies.

Really the best ending is trump lying to mueller getting impeached, then Put on trial

I mean judges in ny are fighting like hell for trump to take the stand

The fall of trump and this troll generation of 4chan racist and racist memes

I mean the nra is shook.

Things are good. Teenagers trying to get politics to trend because so many young people turn 18

We all want change

The republicans chose a bumbling oaf and all the republicans have no answers to why these changes trump demands are any good

Democrats party of do nothing cunts

Republicans party of gouge obliterate plunder

If you are still a trump supporter just reflect on how shitty he is as a leader. Look at state run propaganda liks sinclair and fox.

You live in the fake bubble

Republicans didn’t really choose Trump. I’m sure the party establishment is still grousing behind closed doors about having to work with him because he isn’t really a republican, but was able to tap an audience that their more “normal” candidates could.

Still, I think they need to do away with the rule about a third party candidate having to have a certain amount of popularity in order to be on the ballot. It makes it even tougher for a candidate who already has an uphill battle ahead of them.

NORMIE CANDIDATES?

The people didn’t choose the candidates, committee behind closed doors choose candidates.
Like despite Sanders winning the Primaries, the DNC chose Clinton.

Stop acting like the Dems are the good guys, because they are not. They are not interested in the plight of the common citizen, they only lip service then go about their own agenda’s anyways.

I don’t think the Republican leadership wanted Trump but realized he was getting a lot more heat than any of their other more establishment candidates and was their best chance to win. They only “picked” him because the electorate liked him not because they really wanted him.

I don’t disagree with you RE the Dems, but at the very least they do more for common people than the Republicans do these days. Republicans don’t even make any secret of the fact that they’re all for the rich and don’t give a shit about anyone below a certain tax bracket. At least in the Reagan era they had some pretense about caring about people who weren’t rich.

This is why we need third parties. People need to stop voting for shitty and shittier just because they feel like they’re the only options.

I agree with you on this

Won’t work 'til we radically change how elections are won:

I’ve seen that video before, and I agree with it, but I think the problems of third-party candidates just being able to get on the ballot I have little to do with the first-past-the-post type of election. If they can’t even get on the ballot it doesn’t matter what kind of election we have, they aren’t going to win either way. But I agree that that kind of election seems a lot more fair then the way we do things here in the US.

Trump does not care about what other people think since he is his own person. He seems to care when he makes his rants and tweets but that is to only point out people who are in the wrong. He is right most of the time since he is a genius. He trained his whole life to be the ultimate President. He made mistakes but he learned from them. He does not care if you think he is an embarrassment. He listens to others opinions but he does not let other people decide for him. He is not a puppet like previous Presidents. He is an Alpha Male and a true leader.

Trade war time.

Trump using twitter to effectively destroy amazon stock via lies and vitriol

“Now matter how many people told him he was wrong he says it anyways”

Sounds like a securities law has been broken

Trump leading america to deeper economic ruin

Trump going down as worst president ever

Get him out, put pence in

If someone can make stocks crater just by tweeting rumors or even outright lies, and people aren’t doing any fact-checking then that’s a flaw with the market itself. I’ve been thinking about doing some investing but stuff like this gives me pause. Wall Street is way too volatile.

Yeah, the market is significantly flawed. Refer back to John Oliver video on cryptocurrencies and pumping and dumping, for example. If you know ahead of time that some force will create or destroy demand for a stock, you can make a killing. So if Trump or other actor causes some variance in the perception of a stock, it can be smart to try to jump on that potential and make money. And then others try to jump in and you have stock spikes.

I think I read that some traders were watching Fox News to be able to predict who Trump might go after next, and thus predict what stocks to short. I haven’t heard back on the results, but that seems like an effective but horrible way to make money.

Finally. Stop airing Trumps literal constant lies and misleads. Stop showing Sanders daily liefests. Stop having on people like Jordan/Gaetz who go on InfoWars for fuck sake. If people want to live in the fake bubble then let them watch Faux or Youtube Videos/InfoWars and let them be because at this point they are not going to accept reality anyways.

Here is how they monitored his Bullshit, Fucking PERFECT! Hope they do this moving forward.

I always write transcripts. You’re not so special.

And it doesn’t have to be from Ben Shapiro. It can be from anybody - ANYBODY, even people or sources you trust. It doesn’t matter WHO it comes from, all that matters is if the information is correct.

This is not what ‘these people do’, this is what I do.

Why are you using such a bad example? What does this have to do with government tyranny? I agree with Eisenhower’s decision - 100%. Faubus was wrong, Eisenhower was right.

Brown v. Board of Education - Wikipedia
Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, 347 U.S. 483 (1954), was a landmark United States Supreme Court case in which the Court declared state laws establishing separate public schools for black and white students to be unconstitutional.

Again, what does this have to do with Federal Opression on the States? From what I read, Eisenhower didn’t even agree or like the ruling of Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka. Eisenhower was in favor of segregation of schools but he went against Faubus. What does that tell you? He chose to uphold the Law/Constitution, even though he didn’t like the court ruling for desegregation. Eisenhower used a State militia to uphold the Law. I see nothing wrong with that.

This example sucks and has nothing to do with government tyranny. The 10th Amendment doesn’t apply to everything, and it certainly doesn’t apply in this situation.

Yes - that’s EXACTLY what I’m telling you. But not just one Jim Bob Cooter - but all the Jim and Jane Bob Cooters and their boys ALL ACROSS AMERICA.

Let’s say the government atomic bombs each state twice. Based on atomic bomb numbers…

But those numbers are far too small. Let’s say each Atomic Bomb kills 1 million each. So 100M total.

The government has now bombed and killed 100M Americans. You still have anywhere from 100 - 150 million gun-toting Americans left. Hell you want another 100M. That’s 50M left.

50M vs. 1.4M. Add all branches (Military, Air Force, Navy), that’s like 3M tops. 50M vs 3M

You have the audacity to tell me to read a history book… well we’ll see. We’ll see who history will prove right: Some of the smartest most intelligent men of ALL TIME or some nobody on a fighting game message board.

I always considered militia as the best troops in the world for a sudden exertion, but they will not do for a long campaign.

It kinda makes me wonder if Trump owns stocks in certain companies that are competing with the companies he shits on on Twitter or wherever and is only doing this kind of stuff to help he and his friends’ portfolios…
