My main issue with our welfare system is the fact that it takes away $1.00 for every $1.00 earned by the recipient. It makes it a lot harder for people to get out of poverty, something welfare is supposed to help with. I think it would go a long way if they just took away a % of each dollar earned instead. This would actually help people see an increase in their income as they work their way up in the job market. Instead people come up with ideas of deadlines and etc that can put some people in a very bad position. I donāt think ideas like that are very helpful.
Iām not against welfare but I am against the way itās implemented. Iām a more conservative leaning person when it comes to the money side of things but I think a safety net is very important to have. I just think itās been poorly handled and promotes reliance more than advancement in itās current state.

The Democrats in charge allow banks to use predatory and racist mortgage policies to fleece low income families to loose their homes, but then just board the houses up. They donāt even allow for any Redevelopment. Doesnāt matter if a contractor willing to buy the homes from the city and rebuild and repair them for paying customers or give them away to the less fortunate. We got more abandoned houses in this country than we do homeless, yet all attempts to repair these house to get them in serviceable conditions are blocked. And the homeless arenāt allowed inside, they are found they get beaten by police for ātrespassingā.

How is it that a City that used to host a grand Prix, with the City making 5 Mill a year still end up with a -2 Million deficit only after two years. I watched as my state went from having a Budget Surplus under a Republican Governor (who inherit a budget deficit) goes to a even larger budget deficit Under the Next Governor who a Democrat in less than 6 mounts in office.
I am not debating Trump is a fucking piece of shit, and everyone that supports him is also just as a waste of breath. But the Democrats are just as guilty.

Iām unclear as to how those are uniquely Democratic plans. That sounds like a clusterfuck of a situation that doesnāt have any easy answers. In my state and to my knowledge, Democrats have more typically been on the side of reforming predatory lending policies - your example seems counterintuitive. And if thatās an area of interest to you, it seems like currently Republicans are trying to allow for more predatory lending while Democrats are trying to disallow that.
I know in my state that the government funding is hamstrung by destructionist Republican policies. If you can establish the sexy notion that taxes are bad, that helps destroy peopleās interest in investing in what should be the common good, and then you go down the death spiral of underfunding the government. Somebody comes in, has to actually fund the shit that is required for society, and either taxes and/or the deficit goes up. I donāt know the Illinois story, but at face value Iām guessing thatās about what Iād discover if I looked into it.

Dems normally ARE on the side of trying to reform things but bureaucracy tends to thrive under Democrat power whereas the Republican idea is just to torch it all.
The Democrats spend too much time being the nice guys and that hasnāt helped them at all.
