I was iffy on the Chiefs drafting Clyde at 32 when Taylor and Swift were on the board, but if Reid, Mahomes, and ol’ Stone Cold say it was a good pick, then I guess it was a good pick.
2nd rounder is a linebacker that’s fast and punches QBs in the face. Could work out.
3rd rounder didn’t give up a sack his whole collegiate career. To be fair Big 12 doesn’t really play defense but that stat stands out.
I haven’t decided yet which team to get behind. Last season, it was the 49ers and we all know how that turned out with the Super Bowl choke. Not cheering for the Cowboys either, because fuck 'em.
Though again, not picking Mahomes was not unreasonable, he was considered a very raw prospect and he had the blessing of going to the best possible destination in KC, a place with a stacked offense already put in place and the best coach in the NFL at QB Development in the Fatman. There’s no guarantee that Mahomes becomes MAHOMES without landing in KC.
That’s not remotely close to a fair argument. There’s not a lot of talent that survives bad Coach/Team situations. There are a lot of teams that have destroyed potentially very good players by chaining them to bad programs.
Damn. The Bears are giving Mitch one last chance to prove he’s not a bitch. Good luck with that. Man has to face Brady, Breesus and a pissed off A Rod. He’ll be lucky to make it to the end of the season at this rate.
My point though is that Mahomes was someone who was noted in the draft to need heavy development to really shine. It’s not that if he went to a bad spot he would’ve sucked, that goes for everyone, but I don’t know if he even goes to a solid program like say…the Rams post-Jeff Fisher that he flashes as much ability. I’m not marking going to KC as something to his detriment. In fact, I’m ecstatic that he did so he could get not only the proper development, but the extra time to do so as he was able to sit for a year behind Alex Smith with no pressure.
Compared to Watson who was a more surefire starter that you can plug and play in most non-horrific spots and he’d show up. Put Watson in Chicago and Chicago probably makes the Super Bowl in one of the last couple of years (assuming they still make the trade for Khalil Mack).
Mitch probably would be better if they had stuck to the initial plan and not started him the first year or two so he could work on his fundamentals. But they threw him in for his talent even raw was better than the fool they gave a contract to from Tampa.
But as a Houston fan thanks Chicago for being dumbasses and missing Watson. Although Watson probably would be better off anywhere but here the way things are going.
This pretty much guarantees Dak can’t really holdout anymore. Dallas is loaded with offensive weapons and Andy Dalton actually looks good when surrounded by a competent offense outside of just AJ Green.
If Dallas won the division with Andy Dalton Dak’s value would tank to the equator.
Fucking Jerry Jones making it really hard to hold out and not cheer on the team this year. Maybe if they give Dalton the starting job and fucking bench Dak, I’ll go to the dark side.
Jerry ain’t giving Dak Franchise Tag money just to bench him before the season. If anything he signed Dalton specifically to force Dak to not hold out and start.
If he wanted Dalton to start he could’ve had him months ago and let Dak bounce.
