The fuck Shawn…

Kaep basically took the NFL’s publicity stunt and turned it on itself.

From the other shit I was reading about it, Kap was NOT in the wrong.

NFL was gonna have full control of the narrative to edit footage to show his worst throws then not even allow him to pick his own recievers like the other QBs did. And use all that as an excuse to not hire him

Plus they wanted him to sign a waiver so he couldn’t sue if he wasn’t picked, which shows they really had no intention of hiring him anyway

Kap personally paid for flights for his own recievers, thats how serious he was about playing.

I’m gonna take what Shannon Sharpe said earlier.

“If you’re so afraid, whether RIGHTFULLY SO or not, that the NFL would willfully edit and manipulate any footage they had to guarantee you do not have a job, why the hell do you want to get back in bed with them in the first place?”

I’ve been saying it from the absolute start. Kaep shouldn’t want to play in the NFL again, he has absolutely nothing to gain but everything to lose. His health, his stance, hell even the belief that he can still be good to great. Even if he comes back and does fantastic it doesn’t change the narrative he already had in his favor.

But no, while this shit was an obvious NFL PR Trap, he didn’t do anything to make the situation any better for himself. The “waiver” that was the trap to make sure he couldn’t sue? It’s the standard waiver literally every player is given for these types of workouts. If he wanted to avoid the waiver, if he wanted to control the narrative to make sure he wasn’t screwed…why didn’t he just set up one of these workouts for himself in the last three years? Plenty of schools would’ve bent over backwards to have him run his own combine for a couple of hours in their building.

Again, the NFL was blatantly trying to screw him with this workout. No one should dispute otherwise. But it doesn’t mean that he handled what he was given well either. He should’ve from the start said that he wanted nothing to do with the NFL. His cause is far more important than anything he can do on a football field. There were so many ways he could’ve used this obvious trap to his benefit and he whiffed.

No, the Giants breaking their 18-0 win streak means something.

Who?

I got no skin in this game like a lot of media heads do, but from all my years of being a fan of the NFL, I wouldn’t trust these folk to play straight either.

But for the chance at millions ala AB if they do give him a legit shot or to prove they are corrupt if they don’t I get why his people agreed to the ‘showcase’. A damn shame, the man could certainly help a team with a need at QB and the NFL would be better for it.

I’ve heard this argument after the workout, and I think the obvious answer is that if he set up a public workout like that (assuming he hasn’t done similar drills that people in NFL circles know about), teams were not required to come. The fact that literally every team had a representative coming to check out his NFL decreed combine, and that 66% of them left after he changed venue shows that it was a dog and pony show. The high school venue was apparently about a 40-60 minute drive from the first location and the change in time/venue would have easily allowed for all the reps to get there in time.

It was a dog and pony show sure, but at the same time teams weren’t exactly happy about having to come on a Saturday to begin with. So to show up to Atlanta, which quite a few teams would have to struggle to get to, only to find out that they have to take another hour drive (and leave pretty much immediately to make it on time), even I’d say “fuck it” at that point. If Kaep really wanted to show the league’s ass he should’ve pushed the issue sooner. If no one shows up, he has a plethora of ammunition and if teams do show up he has a lot more time to get together a proper setup for a workout.

On top of that, that many teams shouldn’t have been showing up to begin with. Half the NFL has no use for Kaep this late in the season. As of now I’d only put Carolina, Pittsburgh and Chicago as teams that should really be doing their due diligence on him. The others either already have a good enough QB to make a run, have a young QB of the future they’re grooming, or are so far out that bringing Kaep in might ruin their tank. The fact that so many teams were bringing in a rep should’ve been a red flag all its own.

Rob Gronkowski made a “big announcement” and it isn’t him returning to football (he has until the end of the month)…

Gronk did Gronk things yesterday too:

Gronk feels like he is trolling with his potential return for the coverage. I can’t hate his hustle though I really want to.

I’m all for Gronk living his best life. He’s one injury from being in a wheelchair, and it’s hard to party in one of those

Chiefs are on bye and are using a more balanced gameplan on offense to help the defense, so we won’t see too many more Mahomes 75-yard blessings this season. Not having Hill on the field makes that offense look decidedly mortal.

T.O hurt Stephen A. Smith’s soul, straight ether. Told him Max Kellerman was blacker than him. Stephen was HEATED :joy:

Depending on the game’s outcome…THIS COULD BE THE MOST BADASS HOUSTON THEMED THING EVER OR THE MOST CLOWN-SHOES ASS SHIT EVER!!

Either way I just hope the Texans get this pivotal prime time win.

I love how the interior linebacker group is a bunch of buff nerds that love geeking out. Although their Mario Bros one was better.
