Am I the only Marduk Left!?!?

I want to play Duk, but with the way things are going, I might have to go with King if I want a grappler. Abel and Gief both don’t look super strong, and Marduk still doesn’t have a solid way to get past fireballs. When I look at him as a whole set of tools, it seems like he wants people to ultimately <i>come to him</i> instead of the other way around. Long poke and then defend your position with air grabs and the fastest 360 in the game, yay! Plus, as someone mentioned earlier, he’s really not that awesome without meter.

His main terror moves as I see it, are as follows: exNLS has 1-4 frames of invincibility on startup, which makes it gdlk for defensive use. Then you have exTakedown, which it seems is where he really gets his damage from.

Long story short, either he goes ham and gets lucky, or you have the best blocking in the world. And even then, you need your point to be running meter gems just to get that shit going.

I am playing Ryu on point and Marduk as anchor. Both are dependant on EX for big DMG combos, so I use two 200 EX instant recovery gems (Motivation?) on both. One meter gem activates when connecting 5 normals the other when connecting an EX special. Meaning, one hitconfirm (5 normals) and I get 200 EX (almost one meter section), which guarantees the need EX special. The connected EX special then again gives back 200 EX. This applies for both chars and I never run out of meter, often even connecting two supers in one round.

Don’t know what to do though if the EVO rules will become the tournament standard also in EU due to these DLC gems…

Read wat u guys are saying im really n2 ttt2 now but marduk is C+ imo or just made B 2013 didnt give him much imo except super after launcher besides that nothing crazy does more dmg other ways fav duke setup

great because if they block lk moves u in max range for light cmd grab if they press a button(rarely) lk 70% of the time counters then go n2 grab or launch proximity nyc zangief is great and I like his one setup w/ marduk on wakeup

whiff far heavy on purpose wen theyre down which makes them wan2 blk on wakeup then spd marduk still 2me is worst grappler in game since every1 else has better normals one more thing marduk st.lk pressure is amazing u can literally do it 4ever as long as they dont have srk or meter if they try to jump it stops them they press a button it counters 100% of the time once u get your timing down perfect for trolling,grab setup,or launcher…with that said I honestly couldnt recommend him over any other character in the game…EXCEPT if his cr.hp is a great anti air someone plz hit the lab and check for me! before it was risky but with the tekken anti air buff it might b amazing which leads to scary dmg and yea his gator slam is amazing but cr.hp(anti air) st.mp, cr.mp,hp gator slam or super is alot better happy to see more marduks! I main him since tekken 5

I dont know if ive said this already but dont use tackle at the end of combos especially launchers get more dmg off other things cool to have but not max dmg alright thats it lol sry for long post but I have the best marduk in sfxt now I gotta have that in ttt2! Gud luck everyone

It does build more meter than Gator Slam though… But in general its the worst option, the good buff though is that, double leg juggle, makes super juggle which I use all the time.<br>

How do you guys deal with cross-up pressure? I tried b.MP for the armor and it works sometimes but it’s not safe. Jump back MP works sometimes but i have to do it early.<div><br></div><div>Also, what duk’s best diagnol jump air-to-air?</div>

close standing lp. has to b timed perfect or u can auto correct the air throw by doing half circle back lp very useful hard to master ppl see u do that they go crazy gud luck bro

old tech i just remembered but couldnt figure out its use so now that i kno how good it us marduk’s should put it in their game far hp, mp then super or launcher simple but very very effective…salty i lost that karastorm tourney but it just made me get in the lab harder also st.mp into cr.mp is an actual link…never knew that thought it was only good after launchers and its also safe! after cl.st mp ppl press buttons u link the cr. mp get the counter then ex,super,luncher,dlt or even CADC into low it all works depending on opponent…ANYWAY ANYBODY STILL IN HERE???

dark phoenix I think u missed it I think everyone realized how ass marduk is and moved on lol but im still here dammit! lol any tech u can share would be helpful…Also to the ppl that still play the duke that new after launcher combo the cr.hp dash cancel mp mp hp gator slam only does 10 more dmg that the 3mp thing so why work harder? lol keep it simple lifes better that way

The unblockable…actually hard to blockable:

if your back is touching wall you do l. Air grab or regular grab putting them in corner dash up jump forward immediately hitting j.hk yes they can roll out but if they don’t they’re in trouble due to height of j.hk no j.HP is possible but you can St.HP into grab or ex combo…ur welcome another thing is Craig rush is amazing meaty on wake-up wen they’re in corner anything hits just launch…jab body combo quickest way to close distance after grabs…not always best to do HP air grab at end of combo puts them too far away MP is great especially wen putting them in corner…deep j.Hk into j.hp Cl.MP into launcher 300dmg I use it to activate gems mk should b use if not full screen instead of hk…also found out tekken string ending in should isn’t safe neither is trap door kick always cancel it hold mk if it hits let go it don’t backdash…green gems makes Marduk ls jump terrifying since he has 1 of the fastest n it changes fall speed fun to mix it.up also makes CR.HP cadc CR.HP easier wen u tag in after dp or something full ABC with my partner tag in Marduk light command grab my favorite lazy setup I dub it, “the owW” . Soon as.u see Marduk foot do command grab only works if they’re mashing buttons if not you got to wait a half second longer but they always mash buttons since its not safe. From experience only way they jab you out of grab is if you messed up timing one of the few if not only benefit of 3frame grab. CR.HP anti air tho spacing n timing is weird way better anti air due to possible dmg…think I said that already 0_0! LASTLY! how could i forget i hate wen ppl. Neutral n double neutral jump its so fast hard to react right!? Fuck those guys lol we got st.lp baby! Futileskies is the new best marduk n my favorite to watch because hes fuckin fearless lol im more safe cautious self conscious about pressing something in fear of getting counter hit but him? He gives no fucks hes a psychopath and its terrifying in his words “thats how you have to play him”

After hp air grab 2 steps fwd f.j mk timing on mk dictates whether u cross up or not very ambiguous

Thats all i remember him telling me. from playing him i learned jab body combo (far mp d.hp) moves u forward same distance as a dash. due to priority of jab body combo hp u land alot of counter hits then u can dlt or cadc grab wen umake them fear marduk n tht distance instead of jab body you can just dash up grab it works…alot he also says cr.hp is good at certain distances i haven’t tested it or seen it but i believe him if anyone still reads this i wouldn’t watch him in tournament he was ass just abc wit marduk all day hes scary now to xbl players head to xbl leaderboards watch his recent replays especially against me if u want a more of a aggressive Marduk which is more fun mine was aggressive but nowhere near his taking risks is worth it especially with having 3rd highest health y not? With that said does anyone even care? Prolly not but ill keep posting regardless
