Alright, I finally understand why people get angry when a character is so popular

To balance Ken, make his Hadouken a Shoryuken for double the firey goodness

I pray to god they arent, cause your ideas are fucking stupid.

It’s easy to criticise without bothering to substantiate your claims with valid arguments. Just open your mind and consider it for a moment, it makes perfect sense and is easy to implement.

I guess you missed the +100 pages thread called SF4 2nd Down huh? Fucking idiot.

I bet you think Dan is viable at high level play too huh. I dont think anyone in their right mind would agree to any of the changes you brought up with that post.

I posted in it, several times. If you had looked or asked me, you would have known. I’m not saying there is only one way to Balance Sagat anyways. Only that my method is the easiest and fastest for Capcom.

You underestimate the power of Saikyo. You should become my apprentice.

I’m a Gouken player.

I’m forever teaching my pupils. Those damn kids just don’t learn.

And the dumbest if they listen to you.

Please play me with Dan, im in the mood for some casual fun:looney:

The characters are popular for a reason. And no its not because of how “cool” the character actually is.

People play to win. So they’d play with the dumbest character in the game if it meant winning.

In this games case. Ryu and Sagat. Get to G1 and thats ALL you fight. There might be an occasional outcast, but otherwise that is all you will fight. Annoying, and frankly its made me lose interest in the game. I’m now more excited for KoF or Blazblu. Until they either update the game or release a new version with better balance, I probably wont be playing it after these new fighting games come out.

I don’t know how BB is going to work out online, but I’m guessing you are going to see Arakune and V-13 in high choice positions in BB online, much the same way you see Ryu and Sagat in high demand in SF4.

(I’m basing this purely on tier reports and match videos, admittedly I have never played BB, but you can bet I will in 30 days )

I’m with coldviper. I think that championship mode just makes me relive the experience that made ranked matches such a drag.

Fuck that! I would never play anybody who is brazen enough to make an outright challenge with Dan. They obviously know something I don’t. Like the fact that Dan is a decent character in the game…:wonder:

So, just how many of those who have posted here actually main a low tier?

What’s your definition of low? Like dead last, below the middle, or anything not Sagat?

Theres nothing that Dan can do that I dont know about. Frame data is frame data.

below the middle, as everybody is complaining about the upper portion of the tier list being overused @_@

Pretty much agree with you here. It seems that the Champion Mode just splits the SF4 player base.

…You know…you will be complaining about two characters that everyone uses in those games before long too…I am sure you were one of the kids who complained about how many Supermans and Flashs were used in MK vs DC and how many Meta-Knights and Snakes were used in SSBB…

It’s not a matter of game balance…the game really isn’t that unbalanced as a whole. There’s just some bad matchups and online makes the bad matchups worse since winning a bad matchup usually requires solid reaction time. But in general it is not because of the tiers of the characters, online people aren’t good enough really for those tiers to be accurate anyway. It is just a matter of familiarity, 3/4 of those dudes you are playing online haven’t played sf since they were 12 and they just wanna play the fireball/dragon punch guy. Even if Ryu or Sagat were middle tier, and say, Gen and Rose were the best characters in the game, they would damn sure still be playing Ryu and Sagat. You shouldn’t expect anything else out of online, so that you won’t be disappointed. Make some friends IMO.

/endthread imo

What!! Joker’s not S-Tier?? D:

lol I don’t know what you guys are on about I fight everyone on PSN. Sure there are a lot of ryu and ken and blanka but they usually get beaten so fast it requires no thinking.

Whoever says ryu and sagat take skills to use please get a wakeup call. They are good characters but if you learn crossup–>ex.tatsumaki combo or even j.dp into ultra you can glide all the way G1 in a flash.

Other characters don’t have one strategy fits all stuff like that and have to know every matchup in order to be able to win. And that’s a fact.
