not today was it? i was just fucking around with balrog ALL day not caring, i normally play bison, but i also like screwing around with vega and sometimes guile, (notice the tier dichotomy there)
hope to play you again, unless you’re ryu (i kid, but not really, but yeah maybe i’ll play you)
My point was, Ken’s “OMGZ MIX UPS” are one reason why he isn’t boring. I posted the vids to justify that, yet for some reason you’re bring up Abel. Whaetever, I’m done.
i laughed when i read this and imagined sagat exclaiming “tiger… EVERYTHING” when he does his ultra.
listen guys, if you complain about sagat in sf4, its like wearing the dunce hat.
you might as well start saying “throws are cheap, play like a man!”.
that was probably the major reason i quit guile (even though the question wasn’t directed at me)
and i don’t know if this is sagat’s character being at fault here or if it’s got to do with the people i normally play against being half braindead, but after getting inside sagat’s range, god is it so easy to wreck his ass
I main Vega I actually love playing Akumas. All they ever do is jump back and spam fireballs while on the other hand Guile and Gief destory me. I give mad love to people who beat me with anyone that isnt Ryu, Ken, or Akuma.
People who aren’t used to fighting Viper are in for a rough surprise when you finally run into one. They’re quite tricky.
I see nothing wrong with popular characters, my character choice is generally based on initial response to how I feel playing them, whether they be popular or not. I myself used to main Ryu in everyone street fighter up to 3rd when I took a break from the fighting game scene, but I didn’t use him when I came back.
This thread has turned into a Sagat hate thread lol.
I see mainly Ryus/Kens. I do not see a lot of Sagats, I see more Akumas and Blankas than Sagat. Bison, Balrog, Cammy, and Gouken are almost as common as Sagat in my games.
The character I see the least is Seth by far but Dan, Gen and Sakura are rare, even though a Sakura kicked my ass the other day.
I play mostly just Akuma because i like the playstyle and its a challenge, and there aren’t as many akumas as there are kens and ryus… I hate playing an overplayed character
I main Ryu, and enjoy fighting anybody that comes my way. Remember when playing against a character you feel is overplayed, you should really really know the match up - really well. I say use it to your advantage. If its already an easy match up for you, work on your execution or practice new combos. Its really not as bad as everybody makes it out to be, IMO.
in addition to this, if you decide “fuck it, im running sagat ftw! he is too op!” you are in for a rude awakening.
not only do you have to learn to play the character properly, you have to deal with the wealth of experience that everyone else already has against that character.
i saw this all the time in world of warcraft when people thought they could hit gladiator with warrior/druid in s2 and s3 just because the combo was op.
sagat isnt even op!
war/dru was BULLSHIT!
Well according to my stats in 1400 or so matches 48% of them have been against Ryu… pretty sad, and it just makes sure I will never ever ever select Ryu and I will encourage any who ask me who to use to not pick Ryu.
Next highest was Ken, but he was only in the 20% area.
