Alpha Anthology *Capcom for the motherfucking WIN*

Ah thanks for the clearup, I wasn’t paying enough attention to the vid to realize the rh was as late as possible to take advantage of hit stun and such.

I’ve just noticed the same training glitch from the Saturn version is still here. You’ll notice sometimes the computer will decide not to flip out of combos. There’s one thing I’m confused with though.

Can some characters recover faster than others? Some not at all? Versus Karin with Sodom you can throw, forward, qcf+p in the corner, but with other characters the can flip out of the throw… Guile instantly!

Can Karin not recover from throws? Or does she have shit recovery? Or is she just effected by this training glitch? I can’t tell.

you lost fair and square

Anyone? There’s a lot of irregularity between the three recovery modes in training. Either you’re limited to certain recovery angles in different situations, or there is in fact a training glitch. This is where I’m confused though, I remember it happening on the Saturn and now it’s here aswell I don’t know what it is. I find it hard to believe the same bug would be there… Unless they’ve ported the training mode from the console versions.

That sounds a lot like Guy’s final fight chain in SFA3, what with the peculiarities of the timing (specific time during or AFTER hit) and all.

I did with rog the boxer by doing dash punch, then back forward again to get the 2nd half of the super to come out and it cancels fine. I also did blanka’s super out of electricity so charge supers cancel fine…

ce ism seems really broken. hsfz in general just seems really broken lol. im loving a2 though!

a2 is the greatest non 3s sf evar!1

^^yeah you’ve got a point, I think peeps forget how awesome the alpha games are . I played alpha 1 so much today. Hyper is fun but the alpha games rock!

Alpha 2 rocks  (dramatic battle in Z2A is a great anti-stress method)

I hope Evo allows some non-official Hyper Alpha tournaments this year, it would be great.

This type of thinking always bugs me. There’s nothing keeping ANYONE from throwing side tournies at Evo, that’s what the BYOC rooms are for. The only thing keeping it from happening are all the dreamers on the board that always say “I wish Evo had this” and “I wish Evo had that”. It’s LAZY. Get off your ass, do the footwork, and make an event. Say instead, “Yo, I’m throwin down some HSFZ at Evo, who wants a piece of the pot? Hit me up for details”. Step up and make that shit happen. I can already see the Alpha communities getting a massive rebirth thanks to this collection.

If I could go to Evo I would help to setup an non-offial tournament with other guys who would enjoy to play Hyper Alpha, it takes a few consoles + games and each player brings their own pads/sticks.
Since theres no chances for me to go to Evo we will be at the national tournament in Portugal (EFT) and we will have Hyper Alpha in the end of July: www.akumacombos.com/extreme (theres no updates yet but we are aready working in the setup, place, games, TVs, etc…) like we do every year (its a very small tournament comparing at Evo in every singl field) but we do what we can.

Back to topic: I hope that with the secret dip switches deal in Hyper Alpha we can manage to select more backgrounds stages for the versus mode.

For color edit, how come I can’t choose it in Alpha 3? I can get them in the older games though.

Forgot to mention this, but are there still air parries?

Yes, there are air parries!

Also, even though it’s nothing really. In the arrange version of Zero 3, there is a hidden -ISM in the mode select just after the red one. It pretty much just gives you the skull mark and lets you play as Shin Vega (or whatever he’s called) Other characters can use it as well, have’nt messed around with it too much, but I guess it’s just like Z-Ism but with only one level instead of 3.

Just curious is all the good things on this collection going to be in the american release?

3S-style air parries, I assume? It would be neat to have directional air parries, a la NG/2I, but that’s a bit much to hope for at this point.

3s style air parries. For ground stuff, many things can be parried down; even supers

So, as far as I can tell, as far as chain combos, we have:
–Alpha 1’s chain on reaction (I think this one is one of the easiest ones)
–DS style chains, where you have to press the next part of the chain right as the first hit connects
–Marvel style–dial a combo
Do they have different timings between them, or do they feel about the same?

ce bison, guile and vega owns all. only thing that might even come close is S ism shin bison
