new a3 acho matches! Weeeeeee
sweet Mika vs. Cammy fight if I do say so myself…
Is there any good corner VC for Dee Jay? Basically, I’m looking for a transition from VC3 midscreen to corner. I can’t find any worthy juggle. All of his moves juggle the opponent too high in the air.
Besides of all that VC stuff, Dee Jay is really really easy to play. He has moves for every situation. I remember someone here saying he might be top tier. I easyly agree. One thing that makes him so strong is the fact that he can link a normal after his projectile. That opens a lot of possibilities and you trap your opponent really well.
The only thing is I don’t know what to do when I do my VC and reach the corner, any ideas anyone?
I have yet to try A-Ism and X-Ism Dee Jay…
In the future, please do a search and put in the keywords: “SFA3 Character Reborn”
That will take you to the old SFA3: Character VC’S Reborn thread.
Add the word “Deejay” to the search if you want his name to be highlighted in posts.

Allright, thanks.
Can someone give me a list of Cody’s combo’s and his V-ism combo and maybe a few strats. If you don’t want to post them then send em to me through a pm.

Are you serious?
I thought that R.Mika vs Cammy match was pathetic?
Glad to see some one win with V-Karin for a change, though.
I wanted to see the ghetto RH corner VC, not stupid OTG combos!!!
At least the Karin matches HAD combos.
That Mika and Cammy match seemed like the players were too nervous to do anything.
Plus, some of those Karins combos weren’t even OTG.
That Karin player did a walk-up VC activation -> command throw. Vs a standing opponent.
If that’s not guts, I dunno what is.
Man thanx for the links but it’s to much shit on SRK so that’s why I asked, but thanxs anyway.
It shows that v-cam can hang and doesnt completley suck, same with mika. Nice ender too with the lucky grab!
you can’t jump out of that or counter activate if karin does it correctly, even if standing.
But… that V-Ism thread lists Cody’s two most useful ones in the very first post… Codys name is even highlighted. :bluu:
And that Kawaks replay thread has a bunch of Cody vids which demonstrate how to do most of his VC’s.
But… All we got to see is them hang vs each other. And they do a horrifically bad job at it, too.
I wanted to see all the fights leading up to that match. So I could see Cammy fight vs. other people.
That whole match was a poke fest. Mika only won because those last few throws connected.
My point was: Who’s really gunna let Karin walk right up in their face?
After all, Karin != Zangief… Karin’s command throw range is only slightly better than her normal throw range. The only thing she has going for her in that situation is her walk speed.
That Karin player must have had some extremely good pressure tatics to keep his opponent from countering pre-activation.
It’s not exactly easy to activate through some one else’s jabs. Or walk in standing SK vs. some one else’s defensive jabs.
You could tell that tatic took those players off guard.
And, It’s still a very dangerous tatic, IMO.

Some good stuff in there for A-Guy/V-Ryu fans. (like me:p)
My A-Guy need no assistance :lol::evil:. But…
Can I get some general help with V-Ryu? A page number/link or even some written strats would be nice.
Anybody?
I am not sure what Karin you are talking about. I honestly have not read a lot of this thread but I am guessing the Karin in the recent a-cho match. That Karin was sick.
VRyu is what you want? I will attach a kawaks replay of me doing my favorite VC.
execute > [hadou > hop kick]*n (In replay)
execute > [hadou]*n (I got this on replay if you want it as well)
The one you see most often is
execute > [hadou > 2mk > hadou > hop kick]*n
The VC in the replay is also his guard crush VC. I have that on replay too.
If you ever slip and throw a fire hadou do the standard juggle
[hp > hadou (whiff)]*n
If you want to set up the crouch cancel do this near the end of the VC
hard fire hadou > 2mp (shadow hits) > jump mp > crouch cancel
As far as strats go… How good are you already?
Moves that hit crouching big guys, all except 5hk (rh).
Good note, 4hp hits all size characters when they crouch.
A good way to start a guard crush VC on a big character is by executing into a hp then go into the normal guard crush.
Watch anything (SFA3 related) that comes out of A-Cho…
There is almost always at least one or more V-Gouki (akuma) and one V-Ryu player.
Post more about your V-Ryu please, so we know how advanced you are and what sort of “help” you’re looking for,
Like: basics, moderate, advanced, technical/pro, etc.
Thanks for the reply.
I’ve been saving my VC to use the invincibility+DP as a counter attack, then continue with {Hadoken>Hop Kick}. Corner VC would be {Fierce>Hadoken}. I’m still working on a CC finisher though.
As for strats, I think I’m pretty good but I only get to play scrubs. I play every street fighter out there diligently so I can’t be that bad. But I could sure use some comp. It seems that b+RH is Ryu’s best attack.
I appreciate the replay but… how do I view it?
EDIT: More about my V-Ryu? I’m a pretty good street fighter and understand the basics of all of them. I think what I could use is VC starters/combos and CC finishers. I’d also like to know his best AA, air-to-air AA, possible combos off of throws, abstract (yet effective) combos, things like that.
Hi guys, I’m into SFA3 again after some time and need help for V-Ken. It is harder to play good with him then I first thought, V-Ryu was much easier to understand and play. Anyway, I know his normals and specials, the basic Hadourave and 2 guard crush VC’s, but thats it. I would need some more info for his roll, I think it can be pretty usefull. His b + MK seems to be really good, because it works as anti-air and I use it as a poke sometimes. Is their more to know about this move? I’m also interested in how good are his Shoruykens on block (faster recovery then Ryu and Akuma?). Besides, any good VC’s are welcomed.
Jiorn: Do a forum search for Ryu stuff. It’s pretty common (it’s even described in the SRK articles).
CC finishers? His CC is infinite…
And by “CC” I assume you mean his Crouch Cancels.
AFAIK there are two setups for the infinite. Canceling a hopkick into a hurricane kick into jumping SP.
Or doing a close red fireball followed by a wiffed c.JP (shadow hits) into jumping SP.
He has an anti-air VC which starts with a jab SRK. Usually ends with [s.FP, wiff hadoken]xN once you get to the corner.
Ground is usually : [c.FK, hadoken, hopkick]xN alternating hopkicks and c.FKs – usually for everything near the corner.
And he can guard break with repeating hadokens.
Play footsies. Don’t abuse c.RK. Go for cross-ups when you can. Don’t try and zone with hadokens against low-arch jumpers. etc etc etc (generic shoto-stuff).
If all you’re interested in is VCs, then check the V-ism (reborn) thread, and watch bombo vids.
For advanced tatics, watch match vids and replays, and read through old posts.

Terry_nb: Ken is basically an inferior version of Ryu and Akuma.
Anything Ken can do, they can do better… Plus some. Sad, but true. Even in A-Ism he is out-shined by Akuma.
He has like one roll VC, but it’s escapable.
If it were any good, I’m sure all the V-Akumas of the world would be using it too, since Akuma has a roll too.
I really only know 2 Ken VCs, and they both do pathetic damage, unfortunately.
True, but I want to learn him.^^ I don’t use A-ISM anyway, because I need the better control of every move in V-ISM.
But it could be usefull for confusion …
Would be cool if you tell me the 2 Ken VC’s you know, maybe I don’t know them. Thx in advance for this.
