hmm i was going through my library of vids and I saw a interesting V-Rose OTG VC. Looks like she does have an infinite, or it only works on console version or something. You guys should try it out. Heres the vid:

That isnāt an OTG. Sheās starting it with an overhead. Jumping short is used to overhead them and they get popped up by the soul reflector. Then, of course, we see that it isnāt an infinite at all, heheh.
Fun cc though:)
Apoc.
Great Rose FAQ TS, itās rare to see stuff about her (also your Kawaks replay was good stuff, do more, heh).
I just have one thing to add ā¦
Iāve experimented with the df forward for a while now.
If you slide under their jumps on prediction (sometimes even on reaction) you can attack them while they are still in the air, e.g. with a c.strong xx dp fierce into their back. Iāve integrated it into my game and it works well.
Also after a combo into qcf short you usually have not enough time to cross them up with a j.forward, but itās enough time to walk a step forward and do a max ranged slide. From there you can mixup quite well, too bad Rose doesnāt have a command overhead :bluu: ā¦
I was just talking to one of the guys from the arcade the other day, and he said one time a top singapore player came to the arcade and was showing them a certain way of palming the kick buttons for use with characters that have button hold moves like Balrog and Birdie.
Does anyone know about how this is done? Because I canāt seem to do it at all.
I wonder if the Singapore cabinets are like the Japanese cabinets. If so, then the button configuration might be more coherent with the shape of a palm (since the buttons are arched).
If not, then I donāt know. Becuase using your open palm on an American cabinet would seem really awkward to me.
I think I heard about this or read about it a long time ago, but⦠Man, my memory is shot.
I guess you could put the right side of your palm on FK and RH with your thumb on SK, then use your index finger on JP, middle for SP, ring for FP.
To release RH you would let up on your palm lightly, and to release FK youād need to āwaveā your palm backwardso that you were still holding RH with the right side of your palm, but not the middle part.
Anyway, I could just be blowing smoke. Apoc would probably be the right person to ask.
[Edit]: You could try your whole palm on all the kick buttons, but I donāt know how youād release FK individually from the others. And my fingers are like way too big, I dunno how Iād hit the punches like that.
found some a3 japan matches:
Nice, good catch.
Thanks for the post.
Xenozipās right on with the upper palm technique. Basically, open your hand over the buttons and have your middle knuckles(index, middle and ringā¦the center ones, heheh) on the punch buttons. That leaves the top of your palm completely covering all the kicks. So, when using all of the kicks to charge, you only have punch buttons to work with but, with a character like Rog, you already have plenty of AAs. So, just cover the kicks with the upper palm and use your fingers, or, the middle of them rather, to hit the punches. It should look like youāre just covering the buttons. It may get a little sore as your getting used to it. I learned this back in 92 or 93(OMG!). IIRC, it got a little sore as my hand got used to it. I think itās the holding up of the fingers(causing the arch) that might get sore butā¦it goes away. Havenāt felt that pain since I first learned so, donāt trip on it.
To hold down the punches, Iād recommend just using the fingers while using the thumb and the pinky for the kicks.
This is most helpful on older games or Xism on A3 where Rog has mid invincibility(against Sim,Honda and Sagat, itās FUN). Mad fun with Birdie too:) 2 40% moves without using super? Comeback fool right there:)
Sorry Xenozip. You had it right on, I just wanted to elaborate in a couple of ways since it helps some when a subject is overexplained, lol.
Apoc.
oooh Rose matches, kewl.
Anyways yeah the Singapore have the ergonomic buttons that are curved for the hand, but I still canāt seem to reach the buttons if I try and palm them.
EDIT: Thanks for the help Apoc, that explains why my hand hurts when trying to reach the punch buttons
Iczer one- thanks, Iāll mess around with that.
Good vidsā¦nice to have confirmation that the Soul Illusion is the super to focus on. Always cool to see good Rose matches. That second round of the Rose vs Karin match thoughā¦that was just ugly⦠Great set of vids all around. Thanks.
Is gay marriage legal in Japan? Iām straight, but I think I could get engaged to that guy, for symbolic purposes.
Overexplaination is good.
Last time I tried this, I had to use my thumb for SK. I couldnāt get the hang of using the whole palm for all three kicks. Hurt my hand and it was hard for me to let go of FK without letting go of the other kicks.
Oh well, practice makes pseudo-perfection.
ROFL
[Edit]:
Some one should sig that.
How in godās name do u play wit Dhalsim in V-ISM all I can think of is standing fierceās I tried crouching forwards but I reconsidered on that one plus heās in a way becoming my fav. at this game and I used to hate Dhalsim will at least at every other game but I like him in A3 so can ya give some tips for a noobie
Most people play A-Ism Dhalsim.
When playing V, you basically play the same as A⦠Poke, poke, poke.
In V-Ism I guess :
Standing: Short, Strong, Forward, Fierce, Roundhouse (all good if timed/distanced right). Crouching: Jab, Strong, Fierce. Jumping: Jab, Fierce, Down+Roundhouse.
Hmm⦠Same as A-Ism, I guess.
Throw Yoga Fires, and mash down damage⦠Oh, and throw a lot.
Youāll have to go find some combo videos or match videos to see his VCās, cuz I canāt remember them off-hand.
Match videos are the best way to learn anyway. Unless you have an SFA3 cabinet in your area and some pros who still play.
ā
Letās see⦠Tatics.
Zone a lot.
Keep the pressure on with long ranged pokes. Try to land standing Roundhouses in anticipation on an attack or a jump. Try to hit them as they leave the ground.
If your opponent airblocks a Yoga Fire, nail them with Roundhouse.
Back+Strong can be used as close anti-air. Vertical Yoga Flame (Yoga Breath) can too, but use wisely (if at all). Dhalsims air-throws are delicious, learn to use them.
Dhalsimās down+back+Strong is like everyone elseās ducking strong: Fast and high priority. Not a particularly good poke, but safe. Follow up with a slide or a Fire. His down+back+roundhouse is a nice/fast knockdown, use wisely.
Remember Dhalsim can teleport in the air, and attack after the teleport. So play keep-away, itās what heās good at.
Down+Roundhouse in the air can be used for mix-up, be cautious with it, though.
Slides are good, use them. Just donāt abuse them.
Follow up slides with pokes or Fires. Try and learn to slide into their pokes, it can stuff quite a few moves.
Keep them blocking, and keep them away from you. If they get too close: Throw.
thereās another character Iām a lil interested in, right now Iām just havinā fun wit them but how do u play a V-ISM Charlie
always subtle control thats charlie distance and pressure⦠till v activation.
Hi ive been playing a3 for a few days , something different to play other then tekken , does anybody know karins vsim infinities for p1 side and p2 side ?
also whats her most damaging v combos
i read the vsim thread some decent stuff , but no infinties :depress:
anyhelp anyone can give with karins p1 and p2 infinities
Thatās a good question. I have seen the Karin players in the a-cho vids set up and use a jumping RH CC infinite.
And, Karins jumping RH CCs are infinite if timed right.
On 2 player side, you have to cross up with jumping FK while opponent is in the corner and in the air, then start the jumping RH CCs going across the screen. Repeat the other way if you hit the other corner. Player 1 wonāt cross up, so doesnāt need to do the FK.
However, when I tested this I could tech the set-up. So, Iām not really sure how the a-cho players are setting up differently to where it is un-techable.
ā
Basically Iāve only ever seen it set-up in two different ways. And both ways seem like itās tech-able to me.
Both ways were using VC2 and ended with a dp+P (palm strike, or whatever). Her shadow hits them as they fall, and she recovers right as it is hitting them. You then follow up with a jumping JP, land a walk, then jumping RH if youāre player 1. Or if player 2 you do a jumping JP, land and walk, jumping FK to cross up, then jumping RH CCs.
However, when I tested this, the opponent was able to tech right after the shadow hit them.
Some one mentioned a while ago (forget who, sorry) that you could cancle the dp+P move into her command throw (360+k) to recover faster from the dp+P move.
I tested this too, and for me it was tech-able as well. I suppose the jumping jab might be unblockable, but I doubt it.
Maybe Iām just missing something really simple. :bluu:
Ho-hummā¦
Just to update. If timed perfectly, the jumping JP is unblockable, reguardless of how they tech, or if they attempt a roll, or if they donāt tech/roll at all.
In other words, weather they tech or not, the jumping JP will hit them.
Iām assuming the only reason the a-cho people donāt tech it is because if you tech, you re-set the combo counter, and thus the over-all damage of the combo increases.
Can anyone confirm this?
yeah somebody sent me a acho vid today of one of the players doing the p2 infinity ⦠well some of it
when he is playing against ryu , ryu does a fireball the guy vsim through it ā¦dhk , tiger knee , 360 throw , dp backwards , dp , jump lp ( this hits twice ) , crosses him up with jump mk (hits twice) , then repeated jump hk to the other side of screen .
Looks bad !
i was trying it today but what i dont get was how the guy got the jump LP to hit twice i tryed for about 30 - 40 mins
I noticed if i jump Lp and hold D while it hits sometimes it will hit twice only happened 3 times though , is there some trick to it ?
Ive only been playing A3 with my friend for a week ⦠so dont laugh at my questions plz .
