Alpha 3: Q & A

Do you mean crouch cancelling infinites? Or just crouch cancelling to add an extra hit when you get a anti-air counterhit?

If it’s VC crouch cancelling your talking about then only V-Cody and V-Vega tend to rely on it alot, from what I’ve seen.
A-Charlie is is one of the stronger A-ism characters if I remember correctly, if your good enough with him he’s still competitive, but it depends really on the quality of players your going up against.

I used A-Cody and go up against V-Ryu and V-Akuma’s all the time at my arcade at win at least 50% of the time on a bad day. Sure, V-ism is a powerful ism, but when these players are not utilising it fully, it’s true potential isn’t shown, they tend to not keep track of how much meter they have, and rarely try to blow through attacks and combo, preferring usually just to try and corner crush and then juggle in the corner, which doesn’t really reveal how stronger it is compared to A-ism.

It’s only now I’m thinking of seriously switching to V-Cody since I think I’ve gotten everything I can out of A-Cody.

both crouch cancelling infinites and extra hit after AA counterhit. don’t most V-ism characters need crouch cancelling infinites after their VC’s to rebuild their bar? and in terms of A-ism characters, doesn’t chun li need crouch cancelling to set up her dizzies? i don’t know what other characters need it, but chun li comes to mind quickly in terms of A-ism characters.

The only character who’s as good with out crouch cancels is Dhalsim. For most characters it’s free damage after an air to air counter hit, so why turn that down? It’s basically always good, just to varying degrees.

There are only like 7 characters in the game who have infinites IIRC, so “most” V-ISM characters don’t use them to recharge their meter. A lot of V-ISM characters have resets though which can help them get some meter back.

what exactly does the confusion vc with ryu intail after the initial knockdown?

VC2, low short, low RH, jab FB, hop kick, jumping forward kick to crossup, etc

hi guys no time long see.

ton of questions:

1- is A-guy better than V guy? why?

2-is rose better in V than A?

does rose have an fullscreen vc?

any info and tips on both would be nice.
thanks.

okay a-guy is 09845983749592998264586786589726349653245 times better than v-guy just for the fact that guy has NO reliable vc’s. hes got some vc’s, rather nice ones, but the setups to get em on someone is highly unrealistic. but in A, hes got solid supers. his rising supers are hella good for AA and for resets if an opponent flips out. then you got the almighty kick super. you land a kick super(lvl3 only), you are landing 80% damage since you get guarunteed juggles after the super anywhere on screen, plus whatever you comboed beforehand to land the super, and you got one hell of a scary super…

i like rose in all isms. but i like V the best. she has solid vc’s. and she has good midscreens. im not a rose expert. rather leave that up to TS for explanation

abridged version

V-Rose is a little better than A, though there’s some stuff i ned to check out with her Soul Illusion super. A is still better in some matches though, like vs Dhalsim and others.

Yes she does.

thanks TS.

how do i do that sand attack cody does when he’s down?

I think it’s b, d/b, d+p when you hit the ground. Works like Sodom’s reversal roll or his walking move.

… about Blanka

Does anyone knows wich is the best way to do the Electric Shock?. I usually doit outside of a roll, and it works fine.
But when i want to doit alone to use it as an antiar, the move comes out a lite late.
Btw, i tried to doit in a similar way that i doit on cvs2 (w/o RC), but it doesn work. Well, thats why i am asking this here… so, please, help me with this one…

against akuma…

how do i counter his aerial huracane kick with cody?

every time i use s. RH it hits me and he doesn’t get affected.

… about Blanka

Electricity has good priority, but will still lose to a couple things, and if someone activates V-ISM, they can blow right through it. Also has a fair amount of startup time, so you have to time it right. FP electricity destroys guard meter like crazy though.

If u doit right after the Roll, i has no startup time. Its great to do the Jab Roll, land near them and do the electricity (hold bk, f + Jab x 5 or 6). Sometimes ppl activate VC to evade the roll, but the get hit by the Elec. And when u get CHs, u can do another Jab Roll and electricity again (nice if they flip). So remember to charge when u r doing the elec. Also, to finish the move without recovery time, change to Fierce Elec. while u r doing the Jab Elec.

But, what i need to know is if i can do the Elec. without smashing the Jab Button… just that. I have tried doing Jab x2, Fierce, Strong, Jab, (and others combinations too) but it doesnt work. I also have tried this during the roll, after a jump, during recovery, etc.

So, if anyone knows an alternate way to doit, just sayit. Bye

I never relied on mashing moves because it seems like I could never get it out exactly on demand.

Is there some special technique for mashing things like Electricity, Lighting Kicks, and Hundred Hand Slap? Cause it just seems like your destroying the buttons most of the time.

all i know is that u cna buffer into gens thousand palms wit his punch srtings, and that theres a way to get instant one hits. but im unsure about the second.

Jab Strong Jab Strong Fierce (or Short Forward Short Forward Roundhouse for Chun Li).

There’s no set pattern…you just need five inputs, and whichever the last button determines the strength of the move. You can go 12123 or 11113 or whatever.

Prolly already know about this but here’s a link to some new SFA3 techniques that have been discovered
