I’ve noticed that with X-charlie his f+short has the same animation as f,f+k in A,V. I would say that it would be possible to counter with this move and have enough time to juggle with a flashkick. It would look like a dash knee flashkick. just an idea.
I don’t get your terminolgy sorry. I’d use short flash kick as an occasionally last minute anti-air. but in general flash kick in a3 is wank, use it in combos mainly. Bazooka knees best use in my opinion is the middle of his mid-screen. I like to use to dash to keep pressure on for - spacing reasons.
and if you don’t know, learn how to pre-charge it makes a big difference to how you can handle fireball fights and zone. Sonic booms are Charge back (or whiff c.jab, c.short) F,B+Punch. fast motion.
i tried four move dhalsim recently. Works pretty well. But doesnt work against characters whose jump ins outprioritize the standing jab. Like Chun Li. What do you do against that?
And what’s sims offense based on? Ive got the cheesy runaway basics.
Dhalsim has a antiair for every situation against chunli, it depends on distance, Like if she jumps at you fairly close, use stand jab for antiair - and buffer that into upwards yoga flame, or jab yoga fire into stand rh, it all depends on distance. or you could use b+mp, but it will trade.
From far, you can use b+forward yoga fire for a 2 hit antiair. if chunli tries to cross you up you can short slide to the other side, then low fierce yoga fire when she lands.
sim rushdown…i guess, use stand strong and stand fierce from far away, stand rh if you think theyre going to jump, use fwd and fierce drills a lot depending on your angles. if you do the wrong drill at the wrong angle they can hit you after you drill them…thats how chars like sakura get in on him for example.
in close, use low jab, short slide and b+ fierce (all godlike moves heh) when youre getting pressured. Hope this helps
only problem i have is after a crossup, i try to do close punch moves (like db+strong) and i guess the sides haven’t been oriented ( a la inputting the dp for the opposite direction for meaty cross ups), is it the same concept for dhalshim’s b+any moves?
as i thougth it appears to be a cpu only move =(
i wonder why the bazooka doesnt read charges?
i guess the next step would be to see if u can activate vc, then flashkick, kindah like u can do jab,vc1 activations…just a thought…
V-Zangief/V-Karin/V-Sodom team vs 2 V-Akumas, and a Sakura.
The Karin player brings a tear to my eye, too bad he fucked up the CC infinite. Anyway, solid video as well, it’s fun to watch anyone who’s not Sakura/Akuma/Dhalsim fight…
I’d recommend an advanced searach and choose search by user name and enter apoc. Within his posts you’ll find the richest balrog information.
I’d forget about V-rog he doesn’t really have any effective or damaging vcs. In fact i’d go so far as to say that he only has his crouch cancel VC after winning an air-to-air counter hit.
I’d say evo2k2 dvd has some great alpha 3 including apoc’s balrog. worth getting imo.
I played against an E.Honda the other day, I never played against him before. Damn his arms have priority :eek: and the guy who was using him wasn’t even that good with him yet, the only weakness he seems to have is against high mobility characters, Honda seems to thrive when he has complete control of the space in front of him, he can just butt drop poke, tick throw you to death in the corner.
That was my first impression, too. Honda’s punches really have range on priority on his side… but you can take advantage of this. Walk up to him, hit VC activation once he sticks an arm out, then vc to your heart’s content. Or you can VC activate with a fireball character then rain fireballs at him, then run away to recharge – it’s not as if he can chase you down.
Honda is just one of those characters with a crazy air throw. I dunno. Hitboxes probably aren’t as good as Sim’s or anything, but it’s still really good.
Problem with Honda is that blocked butt drop is still punishable, and he has some mobility issues. He’s not a big fan of fireballs, especially if you can get that meter out of him. Good turtle though, even if that’s sort of a contradiction in A3, since it’s hard to REALLY turtle. Other problem would be that he has trouble getting a lead back if you play smart, particularly A/X-Honda.
I was wondering, when you are using Charlie against Gief and Gief does that tick, splash, c. lk, SPD… can you use Charlie’s summersault kick to counter the SPD or won’t this work?
Like in the same way as you would use the Shoto’s DP to counter the SPD…
I don’t think Gief could SPD a reversal flash kick. But Even then it’s about taking advantage of the space between the Short and the SPD, only you did’t block…Gief SPD will grab pretty much anything if they’re done at the same time, or even if Gief does it later.
