With the shotos u can just jump straight up in the air and then hurricane kick against geif… he doesnt do much to it, then just go into block chain or whatever. Thats how i do it… works every time… But Id have to agree, that unless youve got one of the better characters Gief is retarded.
I was just wondering if doing Crouch Cancel Combos work against the dummy in training mode?.. For example, when I use V-Akuma and I am finishing a VC in the corner with fierce punch, whiff fireball, fierce punch into demon flip kick (I leave a little bit of the meter left), so then after the demon flip kick I simply do a weak punch, then jump staight up and do a short, then crouch cancel and jump up again and hit them with a fierce punch… but the dummy is always fliping out as soon as I do the weak punch… So am I doing something wrong or doesn’t CC’s work in training mode?
vc is flippable at the end. you can’t cancel a standing jp into a jump, so you’re leaving a small (somewhat small, at least) gap where the opponent can flip.
Could someone please give me some pointers on what works against A-Dhalsim while you are using V-Akuma? I played an A-Dhalsim player and all he really did was fireball and then when you jump over the fireball he nailed you with a standing roundhouse… basically everytime I jumped I would get nailed by it, I just couldn’t seem to get close at all… so is there any pointers to get close?
Also, just in general, what is the best way to fight against A-Dhalsim while using V-Akuma? I know stuff like how you shouldn’t sweep unless you are 100% sure it will hit… but is there anything else that I should know?
I have another question… how can I tell if I am doing a crouch cancel properly? Could some one please give me one of V-Akuma’s VC’s where you can do a cc combo at the end to get more damage…
Also, does it make any difference if I am playing on the PSX version?
i was seeing this thread and i though i would hit A3 again so can you people give me some pointers on charlie, cody, guy, rose and guile ('cause there my favorite characters ) and don’t worry i won’t touch v-ism until i do better even though i don’t like cc’s.
what’s vc1, vc2 and vc3? there sort of the buttons to use for a custom right?
the difference in the three VCs is the amount of time between when your character and your character’s shadow (the one that can actually hit) executes their moves. VC1 is the quickest (little delay between shadow and actual character), while VC3 is the slowest.
Everyone is talking about all the games in Evo and Daigo and some guy who won again MvC2… I don’t even know the final result, but how was the SFA3 thing? SaBrE???
Who played what characters and did they won a lot of game??
It would’ve been funny seeing players on the left side of Daigo, players on the right, both pulling at Daigo’s arms; “Come with us Daigo!” And then watching Daigo get ripped in two, and then finding out he’s actually an experimental Sony Android. hee hee
dissapointingly, there was no alpha3 to be found anywhere at evolution. the arcade at cal poly was whack cuz they wouldnt let us put in an a3 board, which they woulda made hella money off of. there were so many fools that wanted to play. so i didnt get to do any grudge matches with anyone that i only get to see like once every blue moon. fucking weak.
the only time a3 got play was on saturday before 3s semis started on the main big screen cabinet. but only lasted like 10 minutes. henry cen owned up bas first game with a-sim then lost next game then they shut the game off. that was the highlight of alpha3 for the weekend, hell thats all there was. pretty lame… so i pretty much played xmvsf and some 3s/2i the whole time i was in the arcade… evo was tight tho alltogether
The A3 cabinet was up for like 3 minutes on the Thursday or Friday before they started to use it for 3S. Got to play Ino…I didn’t suck, but that 3rd round was just terrible…you’re Akuma damn it, you’re supposed to jump at me, not hopkick…
do akuma’s VC’s work/juggle the same on the DC as they do in the arcade? i figure i’ll learn akuma for the shit of it because i’m getting so damn tired of playing V-sakura against my arcade scrubs. i’m just wondering if i can perfect his VC’s on the console, or should i just spend a few more quarters and learn them in the arcade.
I can’t figure out some rules when and why you should counter a move against some X-ISM or A-ISM character.
Example:
25 seconds is left
Gen vs Chun Li: both are A-ISM, same amount of life
Gen A-ISM:
life 25% full
guard bar is almost gone
1.9999 level super
Chun li A-ISM is going her super kick level 3. Your guard will break no matter what you do. Would you save your 1 super for 2 later on, or waste it just in hope that you can get back on your feet and defeat Chun Li by the end of the game?
