Sabre, re-read Master J’s post carefully, then re-read my post carefully, then duplicate exactly what he’s trying to say. You’ll see what means and what I mean about skipping the crouching SK. Glass pictured it right: Master J is talking about a whiffed SK into a fireball, which will happen in case the opponent doesn’t block the rolling demon kick (because the rolling demon kick pops the opponent into the air). Master J may simply be not cancelling the crouching SK properly, an understandble mistake because the SK is quite fast and the neutral state between the SK and the fireball may not be spotted.
Yep, thats what I mean… whiffing the low short into the fireball when you opponent crouch blocks the demon flip kick…
So the problem is then that I am not cancelling fast enough? Ok then, I will work on this… thanks
nah i understand to forget about c.short alltogether if they dont block the demon flip. but damn, you can react fast enough everytime to know to skip the c.short? i know i cant. the flip kick into c.short happens in like less than 1/2 second. thats pretty damn good reactionary skills to decide whether to use c.short or not when the demon flip will hit or not. you can eliminate the c.short, but you lower your chances alltogether. i would just practice cancelling the c.short and eliminate any guesses and any possibility for the opponent to flip. even if you miss time the c.short cancel, the window to flip is probably so damn small that they’ll never flip out anyway, cyz by the time the unblockable part happens and the c.short snags them, their mindset is still in the “trying to block” phase, they wont react to flip, and even if they do, they will mistime it since the window is very small if you cancel incorrectly…
glass: yeah you are right, inxlection does make it a little tougher to cancel but its still relatively easy.
just practice against live opponents, you’ll get it down. its a lot easier than what you are making it out to be…
marvelscrub/sabre: Thanks, that would have taken me weeks to work out by myself.
Weird how capcom can make charlie good but Guile has nothing going for him in PS A3. Guiles been top-tier in nearly every other game.
Nah man, I can’t react quick enough to know to skip to low short if they crouch block the demon flip kick… but what you have said makes sense… so I will just work on cancelling quicker… Thanks
Jai-ai-ken: its not wierd at all. The only wierd thing around here is the stench of your momma. You’d never have figured it out for yourself, cos you have the IQ of a CvS2 Cammy player (ouch).
On a side note I feel I should point out that this guy looks Zangief only about 5’1. He even has hairy shins, which always makes me laugh.
You make a fairish point though. If they werent gonna make him usable they shouldnt have rushed him in. Conversely its not cool having the same characters top tier over and over again - some diversity is cool.
Hey sabre I have another question regarding that unblockable… you said that you can eliminate the c.short, but you lower your chances alltogether…
By this do you mean you could do the low forward instead of the low short? If so, are the chances of the VC being unblockable still good or very slim?
actually… i just realized that i cancel the c.SK all the time. and it isn’t that hard. holding the SK button makes it easier for some reason.
gamwsome/J-e-K:
afaik, Nash was US martial arts champion (right before Ken), and invented the flash kick and sonic boom and everyone else was still learning it. so at least storywise, Guile has good excuse to suck.
Sometimes your opponent will be send airbone after a counter, and sometimes not. Is there some kind of rules regarding where your opponent will end up?
As far as I know only Heavy Counterhits launch if your opponent is on the ground, except in the case of a few moves, like gens crouching SK(man i hate that move) And depending on which normal you use, they might be sent straight up into the air, or flying into the corner.
there are also cases when non-heavy moves launch opponents. stuff like shoto c.SK launches some people up all the time, and being a low attack 'im certain they’re not airborne already when it connects. mm…
I think it’s because you actually Anti-Air them with your normal. It always happens to me when they’re landing/jumping. I guess kinda like a juggle d.short with Magneto in MvC2?
mm… i used to think that. but wasn’t trip guard installed in all fighters post-Alpha 1?
i think it might have something to do with the move the normal interrupted; say if i jabbed Chun out of an axe kick (haven’t tested this), she’d go flying.
Yeah… I notice that too. I send Ken in the air each time Gen counters a fireball wih HK.
master: i dont use low forward cuz its too slow. i dunno if it will work, i never tried. i use short cuz its naturally faster. you can try.
ok cook… thanks again
Anyone checked out this site before?
http://www2.capcom.co.jp/zero3m/
It seems to be the site for the SFZ3 Saikyo Dojo Matching service
I think Matching service refers to the online play ability?
Also you are able to input your best scores with characters and isms here…
http://www2.capcom.co.jp/zero3m/old_rank/index.html
These are the old Japanese rankings that players have uploaded all around japan, their highest score, which character they used, which ism and which mode.
Check some of them out, best score is 9999900 points with X-ism Rose in Arcade mode!

Why is x-sim super so good ? Which ac generally better a-ism or v-ism
i dunno about your wacky ass air grab nominations man…
Because nothing beats it. NOTHING. The only way to stop it is to hit Sim from outside the super’s cover area, which is pretty huge. Just about every other super can be stopped from most angles, with the proper timing. When it comes to sim, it’s either you won’t get him at all or you’re toast.
X-Rog’s super deserves special mention.
Best cross-up: Gief Body splash. That alone makes him one of the best when it comes to mid-level comp. The shoto’s cross-ups are ok, but pretty standard fare.
Best airthrow: charlie shoulder drop.
Best crouching FP: Sim. ONLY. All others are VC bait, pretty useless against crossups, or just plain dumb average. While sim is also useless against cross-ups, sim’s crouching FP has godlike priority on it’s side, and not so vulnerable to VC baiting because it recovers faster than most.
Zoning: Sim, Rolento, Sak (in that order)
