You forget my favorite: just like in the comics, Rogue was always the first one knocked out, despite being “nigh-invulnerable”. Wolverine, despite having the best arsenal, was the most pointless fucker in the cartoons. You can wreck shop bare-handed, but when you pop the claws, the universe itself conspires against you so you cannot stab or slash someone who bleeds. Some shit will happen to interfere, your opponent will suddenly become 50 times more agile, or suddenly becomes strong enough to grapple you away from them. That nigga was just there to introduce tension into Scott and Jean’s lame-ass relationship.
Who remembers the gloriously cheesy 80’s X-Men intro? I pity the kids nowadays who never had a chance to experience the golden age of cartoons.

“No place to hide, no place to run…THE MUTANT AGE HAS NOW BEGUN!”
“YOU CAN’T ESCAPE ME!!! I’LL CHASE YOU TO THE ENDS OF THE EARRRRRRRRRTH!!!”
best X-men moments for me was the JUGGZ
Everything about him
his Huge-ness and his ability to destroy everything
One time he walks into the mansion and lifts his arm just to smash the ceiling.
PLus he is always after money
and that he drives cars, lmfao
*ripps the roof off and climbs in
no way 80s>90s for cartoons…
theres now way especially since it in the 80s it was anime, 90s was american cartoons, dnt forget cartoon cartoons plus all the Nick ones, then went back to anime : LAWL
the OG fantastic 4 is ight, the newer one is shaaawwwaaaaaaaay betta! ba-da-daaaa!
lol the australian x-men cartoon. for the longest time i thought i had imagined this show…since apparently they only made a pilot. it was like etched into my head at like age 3 or 4. fucked me up when the real xmen cartoon came on, im like…didnt i see this already?!
Spider-man and friends did a team-up with them
it was rad, haha…
Somethin with firestar’s ex being a werido
Cartoon Wolverine was a bad-ass version of Gamefan’s Eggo. Always after somebody else’s woman.
damn yo, Invincivble swordman is killing it…lol
I guess the Morlock arc was decent until they started to job out to sewer rats…I mean when you have an organized team, highly trained with combat experience lose to people who are more than likely swimming with diseases something is wrong
wolverine fiendin over jean got kind of stale after awhile, he knew he wasn’t getting the panties
so im not the only one who remembers the Marvel Power Hour, Iron Man 2nd Theme was boss
also one of my favorite lines from the spiderman crossover
“I HAD ENOUGH OF YOU X-PEOPLE, X-CUSE ME”…gold…
People thinking X-Men Evo was better than 90s X-Men were on crack. X-Men Evo didn’t get good until the very last season. It was like the first 3 seasons were all filler.
Wolverine 90s - Had cool lines. Was a big part of a lot of stories. Always jumped on somebody but never cut anybody except robots.
Wolverine Evo - Had some cool ines. Always jumped on somebody but never cut anybody except robots. Wore better clothes.
Advantage = even
Storm 90s - Said cool speeches. Sometimes led the team. Beat up people in hand-to-hand combat.
Storm Evo - Never said any cool speeches. In fact… she rarely talked. Got her ass kicked in hand-to-hand combat on the regular. Wore her makeup like a prostitute. Had a nephew on the team that was 100% absolutely motherfucking worthless.
Advantage = Storm 90s
Cyclops 90s - Team leader all the time. Took no shit from anybody who questioned his authority. Had Jean on lock. Used to say “JEEEEAN!!!” a lot. Kind of a dick. Had cool lines.
Cyclops Evo - Was totally pussy-whipped and Jean didn’t even give him any play half the time. Couldn’t control the team all that well for 3 seasons. Would get punked out by Avalanche on the regular (WTF?) and some blonde dude who Jean was dating/stringing along. Deferred to Logan and Storm for team matters.
Advantage = Cyclops 90s
Rogue 90s - Had cool lines. Was the heavy hitter and would win some fights and lose some big fights. Had a budding romance with Gambit. Used to destroy a lot of walls.
Rogue Evo - Couldn’t fly. Wasn’t invulnerable. No super strength. Used to run a lot (and god was it annoying to look at). Was emo (Emo? Yes. Rogue was all emo in evo). Secretly crushed on Cyclops.
Advantage = Rogue 90s
Jean 90s - Was in love with Scott but Logan was always trying to get all up in that one-piece suit. But Jean was faithful to the core. Would use her powers and then faint. Used to trip over extension cords on the regular.
Jean Evo - Was athletic. Ran track and did the decathalon. Was basically a certified pimp. Would give Scott just enough of a look to keep him strung a lot but never committed. Did the same with some blonde football jock. Was a popular girl in the high school. Didn’t take no shit from nobody. Would use her power and then faint.
Advantage = Jean Evo
Gambit 90s - Had cool lines. Flirted a lot but always tried to hook up with Rogue.
Gambit Evo - Was drawn pretty well. Was a villian for a little bit. Didn’t show up until like… season 3. I think he tried to still hook up with Rogue (which really creeped me out).
Advantage = Even
Xmen 90s crappy-powered mascot (AKA Jubliee) - Had cool lines. Used to hang out with Logan a lot and they had a kind of uncle/niece relationship going on. I like that raincoat. Never missed her when she wasn’t in a big story arc. But when she was in an episode, she never got in the way. Rode on rollerblades sometimes.
Xmen Evo’s crappy-powered mascot (AKA Spike) - Whined a lot. When he was on the team he would ALWAYS get his ass kicked. Used to be in a lot of early episodes and imo was a big reason a lot of those episodes sucked. Used to call Storm “Auntie M” which also irritated me greatly. Rode on a skateboard a lot… which wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t ride around with the helmet and knee pads. He’s a fucking mutant! He doesn’t have to obey safety laws! Storm rarely hung out with the loser.
Advantage = XMen 90s crappy-powered mascot
This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:
XMen Evo didn’t become worth a shit until season 3. Which was a shame because I really liked how it was animated. And gave it chance after chance for the 1st two seasons.
Man I remember seeing that pilot and fucking dying about Wolverine’s Aussie accent.
Spiderman was garbage. I don’t get how people liked this one.
X-Men was the most epic fucking thing to have ever happened, conversely. Pizza Hut VHS tapes for win
The only good thing about X-men Evo was the final shots of what the group would look like in the future that Prof. X envisioned.
wanna know how we liked spidey…most of us were like 10. lol. it was good for a show for a 10 yr old.
Not gonna lie, I was watching and like “What the heck, Carnage doesn’t put people’s souls in a vase, this is stupid”
Talk about nostalgia!
Also, regarding the openings.
The Japanese X-men opening kinda reminds me of a DBZ opening, with the sound effects and all.
Also, even though Japanese openings are favored, the U.S. openings always are catchy and give a great sense of nostalgia (ex. DBZ Rock the Dragon and Power Rangers).
Spidey had some solid story arcs and a couple damn decent voice actors. The animation wasn’t good, though.
Question about Netflix: If I sign up and subscribe on the PS3, can I use the same account on my PC and stream from either place?
Every episode Mr. Sinister was in, pure gold. Dude is such a fucked up guy. “I’ve been watching, waiting, just for the perfect time” and how Morph fucked over Cyclopes and Jean. So much win.
Yeah he was cool until he got zapped by Cyke and screamed like a little girl.
It’s always a sad thing to see Wolverine get hit with a nerf bat the size of Manhattan in every mainstream cartoon he appears in. Besides having cool lines and a asshole attitude, he really didn’t bring much to the plate unless robots were involved… yeah he could cut the hell out of them robots.
The only animated feature that did him any justice was the Hulk vs. Wolverine movie.
Anyway, it’s funny that this thread was made. As soon as I saw X-men on netflix, I called my sister to share in the nostalgic geeky joy!
I say we get a netflix party going and watch some X-men and Mighty Morphin Power rangers.
