Hoping the movie has more substance to it than that. And that all the engineer/homeworld stuff Prometheus attempted to build upon, wasn’t dropped completely to go back to the “safe option”. AKA: Xenos, facehuggers, more Xenos, etc.
I’m also seriously hoping that is NOT the engineer homeworld and, that they are all dead, or have evacuated the planet eons ago. Because then the massive cock-block that was Prometheus will be complete and there won’t be any answers for sure. As if Prometheus wasn’t already a cinematic waste of time as it is.
it looks to me that Scott is trying to give away the “plan” behind the Engineers (my version at least): they start out life on planets (as seen from first Prometheus scene), then they check to see how it has developed. If they read Reddit or SRK yeah they bring out the Xenomorphs to Ctrl+X that shit. The planet they found looked like it would something habitable for human beings but it is desolated. You find an Engineer ship with alien eggs…
My bet is that a 3rd movie will fully disclose all the remaining details. Also some ppl are arguing that David is the one that makes the Xenomorphs somehow.
This is still a prequel to the original Aliens so of course we’re going to see the same type of xenomorphs we’ve seen before, with slight differences. They’ll also introduce the runner Alien, that’s the cat like Xenomorph in Alien3 that’s slighter thinner but much faster than the regular Xenomorph, and a new Xenomorph with longer fingers, not exactly much of a variation for these two but there’s another type that we don’t know too much about that burst out of the hosts mouth, in one particular scene when this happens the android David looks on in awe/admiration as it kills a crew member by ejecting out of his/her mouth. This version of David is supposed to be an updated less evil version of the David we saw in Prometheus. I know this android has different name I just forgot what it was.
The only problem I have with this is the CGI, it looks really outdated. I really hope it looks a lot better when it’s released. They need to go back to using practical effects. One reason Alien3 flopped was because the CGI looked like garbage.
… Oh, I forgot to mention the giant king Alien is also in this, and if you look closely in the trailer I think we finally get to see the Engineers planet, which isn’t the planet they’re currently on, maybe its a flashback scene. My theory is I think the Prometheus David engineered the Xenomorphs I’m convinced he’s the person wearing the engineers cloak in the trailer.
ok lol as I posted I got what you meant. Yeah there are theories saying that the xenomorph shown on Covenant is called a protomorph and that the xenomorph on the later alien movies are David’s touch. There is also the Neomorph (white one) that is bred differently (from the spores rather than a face hugger)

That’s what I thought, the first covenant trailer was scarier than this one. We didn’t need to see the giant Xenomorph at the end, at least not it’s entire body, and from that trailer it’s not hard to figure out who dies… Or this might be a case of them putting scenes in the trailer that won’t occur in the film to trick us… actually I doubt that, lol.
I’m hoping the trailers are a bait to draw in the more casual sci-fi audience. Typical Xenomorph stuff, but the movie actually does expand upon the world building that Prometheus set up.
