translation: you want tournaments. We’ll have tournaments when the customer base grows a bit and I can trust the CAD guys to put out the flyers in a timely fashion (Because they have yet to do that)…this was only the second night of it, and unfortunately, the turnout was smaller than the first…so cut me some slack here…there’s still time. However…this whole “do this or I won’t come” thing needs to stop (and this goes to everyone)…I mean, I understand it’s a long trek for you…thats all fine and dandy, but to say some shit like that (or maybe you’re wording it in a way I’m misinterpreting, in which, I apologize in advance) is kind of douchebag-ish…I’ve dealt with it when I ran DDR tournaments back at my old Arcade Job (people on the DDRFreak forums bitching about my rules when they weren’t even coming to the tournament in the first place) and I’m not in the mood for it now…definitely not. Unprofessional of me to say this? Maybe…but I felt I needed to say my piece.
If transportation or whatever is a problem, then I completely understand, but realize no one is making anyone come out…I just think it’d be cool if people came to check it out is all and spread the word if you like how we’re doing things thus far…
Everyone: I’m not going to be at next week’s Fight Night because it’s Cracka J’s Birthday and his fiance asked me in advance to come, and I don’t want to miss it, 'cause Jim is my homeboy, damn it. The Fight Night will probably still go on without me though…
I’m actually thinkin’ of hosting a tournament sometime after that though…perhaps in 3 weeks…I’m still trying to build a steady customer base for this, so bear with me. The game in question just might be ^Core or 3S…or both. $5 entry fee (seperate from the $3 to play fee) and winner gets the pot…just like I used to do at my house parties back in Houston. Since we have 4 TVs (3 if I don’t show up, for the time being) things can go a lot smoother than if we were all on just one. Ideas and thoughts are ALWAYS welcome, so share your input if you must.
My local Radio Shack does NOT carry console controller converters…and I’m not sure where else to look (tried the local wal-marts and the like as well), but I’m lookin’ to invest in some for PC and Dreamcast so we can use our PS2 sticks and whatnot…
Those that came yesterday: Good games in everything…Jose and Yosh…great to be able to play Tekken with peeps around my level again…I miss it. Also, of course…thank you for comin’ out to support.
The thing is i would love to support something like this but it is a big commitment for how far i live so if i come it would have to be worthwhile.
For instance ill come for monthlies at nickels but if its only like 3 people playing i probably wounldnt go. There are a bunch of chicago peeps that are not going for whatever reasons, like the whole GG crew, and to get something like this going we need all those guys to come.
I know it will take time to get more people to go and currently its just not worth it for me financially. Hell if i lived like under an hour away id be the first one there every week.

Ok, so I’m thinking of hosting an ^Core Tourney on like…August 17th…the amount of people competing will dictate the amount of tv’s used for this. $5 entry Fee for the tourney seperate from the $3 cover charge for the Fight Night itself…Double Elimination…Winner take all…how’s that sound to y’all? Open to suggestions and whatnot, of course…
if you’re going to do $5 entry, I would suggest a different pot split, ie 70/20/10 or 80/20/handshake. dollar tourneys are usually winner take all, where 5-10 dollar tourneys usually have splits between the top 3 placers if there are a decent amount of people.
Man, that better be one hot, juicy, sticky, satisfying handshake for me to play in that tournament. :p:
