Some people complain that Alex is less enjoyable because he is a little too boring. Because he has less options than Makoto. I can understand that but they tried to make Alex a unique character with unique features. But after watching this video, I have to say that Alex CAN have a beasting mix up game, look at that beasting.
!
Interesting video, whatever you try to do; they have a counter for your attempt; almost forcing you to reset the thing.
you piece of shit. my co workers are calling me astley now.
WE KNOW THE GAME AND WE GONNA PLAY IT
AND IF YOU ASK ME HOW IM FEELING

crazy ass beasting
The video doesn’t show! Could U please repost?
very good rick roll
Alex is my favorite character…doesn’t have to be all Shotoken flashy like Ken or Akuma to get the job done.
People complain about the lack of options because t hey don’t know how to use mix ups and to change your attack strategy.
Is your opponent turtling too badly? Use the hyper bomb and make them get up.
Parry Happy fags? Use the tornado DDT for a change…
Plenty of options…I would agree with the few options thing if someone was talking about twelve or something…but alex is way better than that, plus he can pull his weight around and use it to his advantage, like Hugo
All wounderful points. I really liked the Parry Happy Fags statement, too funny.
Plenty of Options? So what are you doing if your opponent is zoning you like hell?
If they are zoning you then they are crouching, no doubt.
Long range attacks get parried and strong F-chopped plus bk+fierce or just straight up bk+fierce.
Always use far Standing forward kick. At zoning range no crouching attack beats it.
ehh I was thinking more about like…shotos…and uhm like…Chun Li…
Chun’s crouching strong can get in but lets be serious here, no chun uses but my chun uses it.
build bar and random ex elbows(make sure they dont have bar though) or head stomp.
his sweep is pretty good at a far distance too.
I just have a feeling like none of you ever played against a decent Akuma/Chun Li
I always thought Alex was pretty flashy. All of the grapple type characters are pretty flashy to me. Nothing like getting slammed and stomped on. Shoryukens will never get old but there’s nothing like Ric Flair choppin someone in the face and then back suplexing them into the ground,
Your feelings have FAILED.
I’ve played PLENTY OF Akuma and Chun Li’s dude, trust me they’ll be trying to ride your ass like a lesbian in a women’s fitness center o.O
That’s why for more agile characters going against Alex…you must pick your spot…time and time again I’ve been trying to tell people it’s not about the character’s natural skill, it’s about how you use that skill to your advantage to pick up the win…because winning is all that matters mostly.
The thing with Akuma is that against Alex, he has to be defensive by using mid air hadokens to try and flake out a bad situation…not against alex. With his ex-dashing chop it doens’t matter how far back he’s gotten. Once you gotten him cornered, watch his reactions. Will he do a wake up shoryuken to get some distance? Will he go in to parry and then throw you away to the corner? Each character has PLENTY of options against everyone, it just depends on how the opponent reacts.
I’ve got some natural reactions and some ways to counter against Akuma. Let’s just go for arguement sake that you have half a bar for any special you want…
Wake up shoryuken- Block or parry it…use a HP flashing chop, then hold back and HP for his choke move, does nice damage and at least half the stun bar. If he’s stunned, then probably by now you have a full bar to work with as well as more room for an extended combo. Use the HP Flashing chop, then use LP flashing chop, connect with SA2 for a pretty damaging combo considering akuma’s disability of good defense o.O lol
Intends to parry- Make him pay with a nice DDT. Most people usually would think a standing HP would hit them in case of turtling…
Turtles- hyper bomb ftw…that or a standing HP to tell them to get off the ground.
Jumping up the corner- too bad you have the rising knee move to your disposal, but do the ex one in case you want maximum damage.
Attempts to grab you-Use a Down MP to poke him, or sweep with down HK.
Way too many options…it’s how your mindgames will work against a certain individual. Mindgames plus mix ups are key items to work with when dealing with opponents, no matter who your character is or who your opponent is using.
Oh and for the whole Zoning thing…it totally depends on how you deal with it.
People will zone you with anybody…it’s mostly used to catch your reactions.

Wake up shoryuken- Block or parry it…use a HP flashing chop

uhm may I ask when you get the time for the HP chop? I was talking about a DECENT Akuma. Something like this
Anways…you can’t do anything against a chun li cause you can’t get close. Period. Alex is just not suited to win against her…it’s kinda like Q vs Makoto (but not that extrem though). Everyone else is bullshit. Still like to know when exactly you do the HP Chop against an Akuma.
Of course you can get the time for doing it…if you parry the shoryu, just do it. He’ll literally chop him and you can do whatever else I suggested earlier.
But if you wanna get close to chun, mix it up. Don’t give me any of that “Suited” bullshit either…Q wasn’t supposed to be dominated Chun and Yun like Kuroda has been doing but I bet everyone told him Q wasn’t suited to do so. Stop using the tier thing as if it really means something…come dude, I know you gotta be better than that o.O
Even the master’s of any character can fuck up, it was just an example…
