I believe that KSK used Boomerang raid in Evo 2k4. He pretty much sticks to that because of the EX moves…
Like I said before. Stun gun for the moral victory. It has its uses, but not against anyone who knows what they are doing. Anyways, with Alex, it’s not so much about supers as it is about EX moves and grabs. Of course, Super Cancelling into boomerang raid and stuff does some good damage, it’s better to use the meter that you get for alex’s awesome EX stuff.
What’s confusing is seeing people promoting stungun on both threads. So I got and thought wasn’t this talked about two weeks ago?

Stun Gun is there to crush your opponent’s ego and his sense of dignity, therefore making it the most important move in the game to me. Fuck the haters.

*Note - Say Alex had 2 stocks for SAIII & parried any attempt whether standing or jumping and SAIII would be godly. It would be what its supposed to be a Punish SA AKA Take That Damage Cause Im Alex. Seriously if someone came at you with something like that you wouldn’t do a standing jab or even a DP. Hes coming at the opponent with so much force regardless if he gets hit the opponent needs to be punished!
In my own personal time, I dont do it enough, Im trying to re-imagine the entire roster as a more balanced fighter. Using extra options to help tweak SA sizes and stocks as well as damage levels thanks to training mode.
An honest try to nerf top/upper tier and raise lower/bottom tier and make a few changes to middle to make it a more fair game. Honestly, Ken/Chun instant SAIII after blocking certain specials is ridiculous.
I even thought of changing properties of some PAs since some are useful or need boosting while others are just pointless like Remy/Elena.
I even like the idea of having more SAs being EXed, namely Ryu I/III & Alex II/III.

i thought i’d share that it’s as simple as power bombing, b+hp , blocking (vs wake up DP/super), and the occasional fish parry or tick fish parry.
b+hp is highly underrated and it’s used often to counter wake up parry and jump, both of which good players will do vs alex. the only drawback is no knockdown.
powerbomb and b+hp alone rape urien to the extreme.
funny enough, a lot of people get itchy to poke alex when they wake up, knowing alex can’t do much. but i been hitting people with jump ins after making them whiff a poke by blocking/backing up on their wakeup.
you know the drill though, nothing is a solid tactic except geneijin and chun back fierce and low forward, both of which alex doesn’t come close to having. so mix it up.
Actually, b+HP doesn’t beat wakeup jump. But, I agree that it destroys Uriens that get feisty on wakeup. It beats all of his regular options: throw, parry, and all reversal headbutts.
are you positive? i’m pretty sure that if it beats a 1 frame off-the-ground headbutt, it should be a (4 frame? takes longer) jump. i don’t think i ever let them slip out unless i timed it wrong…i like it against yuns that like to parry and jump.

One of the things i researched on Stungun through practice are trap setups. Medium Flash/Fierce flash cancel into stungun is extremely useful. plus it’s a great suprise wakeup. Because of the short meter, it’ll build quickly so it definitely has it advantages. Plus there is a 90% accuracy rate on block on flash chop and cancel into medium stungun.
Also, it’s good on corner trapping. plus when you do it in the corner when they’re blocking, he’ll jump toward them and then loop around and catch them. it’s actually kinda funny when it happens.
I know it’s not the best from other people trying to cram it down my throat saying Stungun isn’t the best, but I see it as this: While Super Art II is great with having more meter and such, the style of play with Alex is needed to be considered.
I also use other characters and have played other fighting games for a long time and noticed that a lot of players use the same characters but in different ways. Stungun Headbutt play is a different style and in order for it to be successful, one must keep an open mind to it and have a much more unorthodox fighting technique to use him with. But according to many people on here, I’m a noob since I use it competitively. I don’t care anymore but at the same time, stungun isn’t something to really mock, but with practice and timing with it, any move is good. you just gotta know how it’s used and know which ways to really utilize the true potential of a move.

edit: LOL you can do tackle into 2 unblocks off stungun, godlike, its not even hard. 80% damage if you stungun vs 2 meter urien. thats what i get for experimenting with counters to it.
