i cant believe how many throws this guy has considering what most 2D grapplers seem to work with.
to start things off his normal throw, but we’re also going to get a new animation since right and left are different throws now, for upfront he has two command throws headbutt and powerbomb, in the air he gets a leaping throw DDT and an anti-air knee smash, and then not having enough throws yet he then turns the opponent around just so he can do more with the choke and backdrop(german suplex)
thats 8 types of throws.
and if my dream comes true and they give him that abandoned ground throw im going to have ask Gief over the title of SFs official grappler position.
What do you mean by “grappler”? If you mean “slow as molasses character with low damage output, huge hurtbox, subpar normals and terrible footsies whose natural habitat is the bottom of the tier lists” usually abbreviated as “Zangief”, then by all means keep him terrible at being a grappler. Other than that, give him a command grab or two which are credible threats for people to not rely on downback without butchering his overall movement and speed. I’m completely fine if he lacks flashy, 10 hit combos, but the two or three hits he delivers should hit HARD and provide sensible amounts of stuns (for example, 450 stun out of Headbutt).
Honestly when wanting characters to show up you can’t just expect/hope them to be pretty much the same… that can only lead to disappointment. I like Alex enough as a character of his own so regardless of changes I’ll still play him.
