Let me know what you think.

awesome.
really,really good.

thats seriously hot as hell, awesome job. In fact i wouldn’t mind seeing a street fighter game with this sort of art style.

You have your own style of coloring man, this is great!!!

Freaking destructive…

If I were an Akuma player I’d have this on my stick.

That is sexy. I like the geometric feel to it

Is this kkz? (kongokusoretzan, ddd ppp). if so add some more stuff coming from the ground.

:3. looks kinda like super 4’s sketch filter to me.

Good stuff dude. Really love the way you’ve created depth in the piece. The highlights from the right really pop out his arm and separate the elements into different planes. The way you kept most of the figure in black or near black also helps to draw the eye toward his face and arm, so well done on the 70/30 rule. Nice job on the atmospheric lighting/dust on his left knee. You’ve created a really nice silhouette and I dig the pointy, sharp, angular shapes/style you used.

My only suggestion would be to push the pose a little bit, specifically in his arm. I say that because the arm and hand look as if Akuma’s simply resting his fist on the ground. The other details–debris, pose and legs, his costume–do show great weight and force in his punch but the arm looks a bit relaxed. Maybe straighten his arm a little, or elongate it and have it dig down further into the ground, or perhaps a little more debris could help show the thrust of his fist.

I dunno, conceptually, it’s kind of like trying to show a fist breaking a wooden board in a single image. The easiest way would be to have the fist extended through the broken board with splinters and shards of wood and whatnot, but since he’s striking the ground it’s a little tougher to show the impact. In this case, the way the arm looks in the piece would be like showing a board with a fist on it at the moment of impact which kind of deadens the pose. Sorry, I’m thinking out loud here, cuz I’m trying to figure out how that would work.

Anyways, really solid overall. Keep up the good work.

That is seriously some awesome work.

Thanks for the crits guys. Yeah you are right about the impact not being deep enough. I’ll edit the original, but I’ll leave this up for everyone to see my mistakes. As for it looking like the sf4 filter, I don’t really see it. It’s just the number 12 brush in photoshop under assorted bruhes 2.

Again appreciate the crits and comments. Take it easy.

Pete

wtffff tell me about how you made this. his face is perfect here

it’s interesting to see your work now compared to when you used to post here more often. everything’s so much more refined from your strokes to your shapes. much more depth, it feels more realistic now. really digging it. oh and congrats on landing the Detective Comics covers. can’t wait to check those out once i catch up with the Batman universe

Loving it! You used Painter for this?

Hey SFMC, would you be interested in donating this, or some other of your art to the forum artbook? Just let me know.

awesome job SFMC… couple of suggestions though:
(1) I think it would kick it up a notch if his face was in shadow… just leave the glowing eye. This might be a lot of work though, cos you’d have to increase the contrast in certain other areas too.
(2) I feel there should be some greater representation of the impact… right now he seems to be in the Iron Man landing pose. Perhaps emphasize the power of the blow through a shockwave (depicted as a ring of blur emanating outwards), or have the ground kick up debris in a more exaggerated manner.

HOLY COW! that oozes style! really like how edgy it looks. the hair looks a little odd to me because of how it’s layered but other than that i LOVE it

Really good work.

Delicious as always sir.
