Good job man

nice…i just bookmarked this in my browser… gonna practice these later

Good stuff. Chuns ex-sbk hitbox is so strange in the corner, even if you crossup you have to block like you land if front.

Thank you guys.

@Nu-Skool:I didn’t mention it,but this dive kick is a true crossup, chun has to block x-up instead of most DF “fake” x-crossup.

Akuma is definitely “setups unlimited”,and that’s make him so damn good to play

No no, you misunderstood. Chun has to block it as a crossup but if she reversals you have to block like you landed in front of her. Her collision box will actually push you out of the corner (you can even notice it in the video). So if you block like you landed in the corner you’ll eat the SBK.

YIAZ-M those are some great set ups, I will love tourturing bisons for their shittyness. thanks

Thx.Note that this one works against Honda too (ex dosukoi)

Sorry to bother everyone but i been lookin for some kind of set up against Adon without any sucsess.
I hate him and i want him to die.
So does anyone know anything cuz i would be very grateful.
And also thanks for the work u put in on this forum guys.
Sorry for shitty spelling, fighting my way out of Sweden here lol!

Adon can be sweeped from tatsu and his dp can be safe-jumped. This in itself means the usual setups can apply to him. I notice Tokido often uses c.mk to make his arcing kick special whiff.

  • His wall-dive kick can be beaten clean with fs.hp which is an ideal response to avoid being baited into committing to a dp when he does his lk version
  • Respect his fs.hk and frame traps
  • No fireballs when he has U1
  • Place your airballs carefully as Adon can reactively dash under sloppy airballs and ruin your day

I don’t have much on Adon. He’s an odd character to deal with and I find his erratic style sees me play this matchup reactively. His ability to dictate the tempo a lot certainly keeps me on the back foot and he also has a lot of safe and easy to apply pressure, meter or not. He’s kinda rare here and I haven’t seen him used at tournament in Sydney for a while.

Fs.hk is also still useful in the Adon matchup as well. As long as you you don’t throw it near point blank your spacing should make his faster normals whiff outright and you can tag his slow ones with a CH.

This works on all chars you can tatsu sweep.

You can substitute the palm with a DF throw this is safe vs reversals on Sagat, Cody, Cammy (can dash under), Balrog, Sakura, Fei Long, Viper, Guile and Rose. If you try it on any other characters you’re gonna have a bad time /meme.

Just saw this, good info. About the fs.hp tho, practicing that now and ex is trading a lot, it does stuff it but the timing feels pretty tight, stuffs hk no problem however. The problem is that its super quick and online I might not even bother trying if I expect a ex, which is all the Adon’s I face seem to throw at me.

After tatsu sweep you can also jump and command dive kick for an easy safe jump option against all 5 frame reversals that is easy to slip an OS into.

have any of the more experienced players ever taught about doing an extensive video tutorial?

if i had the equipment i wood love to share my vast knowledge, experience, and godlike skills with all of u common peasants

If this were to be done I think the best approach would be piece-meal. There’s far too much information to cover in a single tutorial so things would be best split up into agreed parts that cover Akuma’s key bases.

For example, Tokido worked with the CC guys to put together a tutorial and it tried to cover far too many parts in a short period of time. It resulted in a lot of things being skimmed over or ignored outright. It also inferred a lot of assumed knowledge which meant many aspects were poorly explained or not even demonstrated.

I’d argue there’s a wealth of information scattered about these forums that would make for a fine tutorial on its own, though the task of organising and establishing a sensible format in which to present it would be a mammoth challenge. Tutorials also often break down to a format that infers a certain approach or play-style which while workable for some characters perhaps flies in the face of Akuma’s design in that he really can be used in many different ways. For this reason it would perhaps be less of a tutorial of ‘how to use Akuma’ but moreso ‘how to use Akuma’s tools’ so it becomes less of a case of “in this situation, do this” and instead becomes a library of options, responses, setups and strategies to choose from to handle a situation irrespective of the character opponent or the play-style of the person in the pilot’s seat.

That’s kind of the purpose of the forums I guess, as someone can ask a question along the lines of “how do I deal with <this>” and a bunch of people will chime in with a bunch of legitimate options which perhaps reflect their chosen style. Taking those same responses and compiling them into a video tutorial demonstrating and explaining them would be quite the task.

Vs Deejay: Naked dive kick after sweep is supposed to be a safe jump, right? Why am I getting stuffed?

Against 4 frame reversals you have to execute the dive kick at the earliest frame possible, which is the very apex of the jump.
