Probably won’t be a second part until Akuma gets a bunch of new useful combos. I don’t want it to turn into goofy silly combo video.
^Strong Strong forward ex tatsu…strong cLP strong hk tastu…cross-up ex tatsu…fucking random shit…why not?
Edit. Cross up tatsu->ex tatsu->HP SRK corner only and spacing specific bu tight non the less.
Yeah you compile all the footage and edit it over a week, and then send it to me. Sounds good.
If you’re going to do a Vortex tutorial soon, as your follow-up to the deep j.HK once they’re used to the Tatsu (most folks are these days) I recommend close HP, LK Tatsu, LP Shoryu FADC EX Red when you have the meter, (the third one will usually have built up during the combo itself) because it totals 800 stun from a jump-in roundhouse and if followed typically from a single sweep to setup the mixup, you got an instant stun on characters with 1,000 or less resistance.
Follow-ups from this stun are scaled the hell down though, so a reset or perhaps faking a link for a tick throw/baited reversal should be on the agenda.
Was playing a pals Rufus and trying to work the Vortex game on him, ended up getting quite a few stuns off the deep j.HK thinking ‘that came quick’ before realising after the sets how it immediately racked up.
is it kinda depressing with the super sf4 rumors saying “This plays nothing like sf4?” kinda makes u wonder if you still wanna put serious time & effort into a soon-to-be expansioned game. Truth be told, sf4 will still exist and be played but unless ssf4 is a total disaster of a game, most ppl will have moved on to it. And most combos and mechanics will definitely transfer over, but you know, we gotta wait and see whats next.
It’s basically just going to be options out of a sweep knockdown, I’m not making another combo video.
Not sure when you think it’s coming, but seeing as it’s not even officially announced, I expect it to be at least a year off.
The new sf4 game isn’t coming anytime soon.
For the second video, () it shows the two dashes from the throw to an MK Demon Flip like the last video, leading to a deep Demon Flip throw to be mixed in with what you have in vid 1.
It also shows the two dashes into a cross tatsu is possible with this setup. Seems to stress their ability to back dash out of your mixups and demonstrates the option selects you can use from your Demon Flip throw. Sweep/roundhouse, double tapping your throw gives a buffer for the Ultra catch.
Funnily enough, while this is a good deal more vulnerable to reversals overall, trying to defend this using Abel, I found no way of safely escaping the throw here outside of simply backdashing (option select) or jumping back (Dive Kick); everything Abel has got seems to lose to this throw.
Likewise, Sagat had the same trouble when it was angled behind his uppercuts as did Zangief. Went for the fabled :u: lariat a couple times without escaping, probably didn’t get it right though.
For the cross tatsu, you have to pause a brief moment before your dashes into it otherwise it will whiff when done with the same timing as the Dive Kick from here. All your really have to do is not mash your dash from the throw recovery and go into them from a steady pace. The timing difference should be too subtle for the opponent to determine.
It lands deep, so they shouldn’t be able to duck it, and again it stuffs reversal Shoryukens.
The vid description seems to read along the lines of:
Only just made the continuance, happy if his vids persuade others to add this dash x2 variation to the tornado. (that’ll be Vortex, I assume)
(playing, practicing sf4:ssf4 in a year) is to (putting money into your car:guaranteed to get a new car in a year) is what I’m thinking
Henaki plays akuma?
In my testing I keep trading with Rog’s lp headbutt, which can lead to ultra.
Delay your Dive Kick a bit for that and you will sail over it. Super Street Fighter 4 stuff has delayed my looking into the third vid, that will come eventually.
A few little quarks to remember is that when you perform a reset in a corner the LK.flip is much safer from uppercuts and yet you can still grab out it if timed properly. The down side is that the flip is also easier to escape from by simply walking forward.
Also you can grab Sagat using a MK flip off of a HP reset which provides a little more security, but not much however.
I’ve been incorporating the forward throw > dash x2 > mk.df and my Akuma game has increased immensely. Gotta love the people here on SRK boards… well… some of them
Many thanks.
Remember, it’s the exploding heart technique.
i was in trainin mode yesterday and discovered that the crouching forward also connects on the falling adversary after a crossed up tatsu, from this reset many possibilities can arise, i liked the fact that i can super straight in or m d flip back in for a throw or added pressure.
I get c.MK reset sometimes when I plink c.HK~MK for the sweep knockdown, it’s rather annoying.
i was wondering, how come akumas or most shotos are using j.lk for crossing up now. A lotta players are just jumping over and doign .lk to perform their strings.
even if j.lk connects on the back of the opponent’s head, it doesn’t doesn’t combo, j.mk is more consistent.
From what I’ve experienced, j.lk is more ambiguous as to which side you will be hitting and it has higher priority than j.mk. I’ve stuffed plenty of shit IIRC with j.lk that if I had j.mk I would’ve eaten. Pretty sure it stuffs Blankers Elec…
j.lk will not combo if you hit it too early, doing it a little later and it combo’s just fine ( NOTE: I combo xup j.lk with c.lp/lk ). Maybe won’t combo on taller characters… I’ma test it to be sure for myself.
I also use it against DP users, I’ve actually had people beat my SRK with it when I went Ryu… if it hits a crouching opponent I can usually get a combo off too. It works because the j.LK has more active frames than jMK, so if they’re crouching I can hit them at a lower point in my jump, giving me more time to act on their hit stun. If they try to reversal or fail to block as a crossup (but are still standing) you might want to just back off or try a focus attack (to absorb possible DP) depending on how close you end up being. But IIRC Ryu and Ken are totally able to use jLK in this way as well.
