Only his U1 can be cancelled from normals…and it’s really easy, just buffer the lp x2 into whichever normal you want (for example sweep) and if you see your opponent doing something stupid like jumping over it you can finish the ultra command and the recovery of the sweep will cancel into raging demon

okay, I understand that you can cancel normals into U1, i’m mainly asking about the window of time in which he can do it.

I’m 100% sure you can do it during startup and active frames. And I’m almost sure it’s also possible to do it during recovery

It is possible during recovery sering that you can bait à counter sweep and then ultra

=( Thanks for the quick answer, i definitely need to find a video (or attempt it when i get to a console) of cancelling recovery into ultra, that seems like a really unique ability since i can’t think of any other characters who can cancel recovery of attacks off the top of my head, even cancelling attacks into FA’s can only happen during active frames (or during startup like Guys OH) as far as i can recall.

Yeh, that’s what I think Tokido was doing at Final Round during the Grand Finals.

exactly…stuff like that cannot really be done on reaction tho…you gotta anticipate that your opponent will punish and do it anyways.

With other stuff like fei’s rekkas that can punish akuma’s sweep you can cancel into ultra on reaction (since rekkas can punish you from really far away) but on close range blocked sweeps (those that are obvious to punish) you just gotta take a guess.

Eeem so, I kinda always thought that akumas st. HP supposed to force a stand on the opponent (on hit), no? I mean, I playd a match today againts a ryu player, scored a forward throw in the corner, so I go for the unblockable setup, perform a crossup, jab linked into cl. st. HP and cancel into lk tatsu, and the tatsu whiffs cuz the opponent was still crouching even though the st. HP connected perfectly. My quistion is: what the hell? oO

c.HP is the force stand not s.HP.

The answer is simple: it doesn’t force stand. Only cr.HP and st.HK do force standing.

If my memory serves me well, Tokido (it was against a Ryu player he totally raped) MK crossup, cr.HP xx EX Tatsu into SRK should corner him again and give you a 370+ damage combo.

Well that’s strange. Cuz I’m sure as hell I read somewhere here that the best way to combo into U2 is to use cl. st.HP cuz it forces a stand and gives many frame advantage to perform the teleport and u2. Well thanks for the quick answer anyways (:

& Crouch HP Causes more hit stun, so that when you cancel you actually have more time to pull off the U2

Crouching HP will cause a weird hit animation on many characters though, causing U2 to whiff in most of the cases. Use standing HP if you want to cancel to U2.

I can see why Tokido does it now… not only does it stuff reversals with dive kick, but it’s a perfect range in which whiffing palm will let you land behind them - that’s genius.

Does it stuff the EX CS, which beats the 2x dash MK DF Divekick setup?

probably not. I’m sure i’ve been hit by it more than once while trying, but it was online and mayabe the execution wasn’t frame perfect

what are the options to follow up with after demon flip throw?

If that’s the case it’s not that much of an upgrade… still, it might help disorienting the opponent I guess. Should try it more.

Pretty much everything I think, including a crossup fireball (dash, then uf and do a quick fireball).

Does that work on every char?
Have you tested just wondering so I don’t have to do it myself :P.
