Because it won’t come out. The way I judge it is by doing c.MP xx LK Tatsu and then st.HP xx LK Tatsu in practice. I can do the first one using a fluid motion (:d: + :mp:, :db:, :l:, :lk:). With the second, I have to start the inputs slightly after the HP hits (:hp:, pause, :qcb:, :lk: ). It’s a very slight pause, but if I don’t do it that way, I get the always useful “Akuma stands there and gets punched in the face” move that wins me (NOT) so many matches nowadays…
**I’m just looking for verification from Akuma users.
Can Akuma combo cr.mp > c.hk without counter-hit?
I’ve checked the frame data & it doesn’t seem possible, yet I’ve read & heard of many instances where folks compare Akuma to Ryu’s cr.mp > cr.hk, but Ryu’s cr.hk is 5 frame startup .
Akuma:
c.mp +5 on hit
c.hk 6 frame startup
Another problem is far s.lp is +5 on hit, but I can combo into cr.hk without counter-hit.
Thanks.

You can do a non-counter hit cr. mp into sweep if the cr. mp hits on the second active frame. Rare, but it is possible.
The EventHubs frame data is wrong a few things. Far st. lp is +7 on hit.
Hey fellas, quick question about Akuma AA dp. Which dp is better for AA? Is it the same as Ryu’s (strong)?
Fierce SRK is Akuma’s best AA dp.
HP SRK is the best out of his SRK options. Put his c.HP and s.HP into the mix and you have insanely good anti-air. c.MK comes in handy every once in a while as well.
True, though I favour mp.
The active hitboxes for the mp SRK allow a lot more leniency to collect both hits of it as an anti-air (for 130dmg) whereas the hp srk’s initial hitbox is close to the ground making it much more difficult to consistently collect all three hits (for 150dmg) using it as an anti-air.
I find mp srk a little easier to reliably connect with for maximum damage to reactive anti-airs, with the hp version proving to be less consistent for all three hits.
Do others find this to be the case?
Also, EX srk offering 190dmg is actually pretty massive for this game
Forward throw, dash x2, hk cross-up tatsu beats out Ryu’s reversal U2. lol.
I consistently performed this a bunch of times over the weekend. Have a tinker with it as it looks pretty funny. Its a shame so few Ryu’s use U2, but oh well.
On the same note, forward throw 2x dash x-tatsu doesn’t work on DeeJay. I dont know what it is. I set the dummy to record and landed the setup on Cammy, Sagat but for some reason against Deejay it will not cross up or it will just whiff.
Found of vid of this guy Looping Adon and Ehonda hope u guys enjoy cuz i sure do
and remember to Plink!! and sorry if some one else found this b4

In regard to this, I have a question for the thread:
What do most of you do to follow from his far HP when you AA with it? It seems to leave both players in a pretty neutral position, and it’s not cancellable to specials like cr.HP. On some few occassions I’ve gone for a cross tatsu jump after it, but I know this is DP bait. I’m trying to think of the best way to use my familiarity with the reset position (with opponents’ comparitive unfamiliarity) to get an advantage of some sort.
Anyone have any favourite options or setups from it? or do you always play neutral?
can anyone tell akumas best fadc combo and some good block strings for akuma?
^ There is a plethora of stickies explaining combos and block strings. There is never just a “best combo”, as it depends on what’s going on. Did you just dizzy them? Did you just land a jump in? Did you just crumple them? Etc
even then, 5 minutes in training mode and you can see for yourself which combo gets the most damage for meter used (or read the stickies)
@DevilKnight: Depending on the situation I may just throw a fireball at them, or walk up and poke with cr.mk or sweep, though I’m not that great with Akuma so there may be better options
i got raped by an awful akuma the other day… st. hk spam all day… what’s the frame disadvantage if that is done on block?
0 on block thats y some akumas spam it thnking its so gdlk.
New tier ranking has Akuma at 13/35, B level. Based on this he shouldn’t be getting any nerfs for the next version, he went from a unanimous #2 to #13.
i could use a lil advice about how to break bad habits… i have realized what i do that causes me to lose matches , but unfortunately when im in a match i completely ignore what i know is wrong and do it and get punished for it…during matches i fall in love with demon flipping into dive kick and s.HK… ive been trying to mix up the demon flips as best as i can … does anyone have any tips to break out of bad habits that they have had…
Try to fight multiple matches against someone better who punishes any of your bad habits. Someone with a char with proper AA (Ryu, Rog, Rufus, Sagat or Akuma for example) and who really punishes hard and every little mistake. Then you’ll try to play safer and think about your next step.
If someone shows you your bad habits quite plainly (repeatedly!), your brain will adjust rapidly.
He’s ranked joint first at IPW.
Who cares about tiers play akuma cause he’s who u think u should play.
