I’ll have a mess around tomorrow, from what i recall in my random fights it works reasonably well against Vega… But i’ll have a tinker while i’m compiling another fuide i’m doing.

What’s there to do against Focus-happy fighters besides buffering Demon into normals? Around sweep range, they focus the sweep or RH and it’s an easy level 2 crumple. -_-

Just an FYI: Newest tier ranking by Mago and Keno has Akuma at ‘B’ tier, around the upper level after Viper, Rufus, and about 2 more.

I’ve been fiddling with the Crouch LK -> Crouch LP -> Crouch MP -> Hadou -> B&B in these sections

Ryu

**Crouching opponent - ** i found it tough to pull off at close range, if i added an extra LP before the MP found it easier but couldn’t hit the standard B&B

**After Cross up - ** Hits perfectly, right through, fairly easy to pull off

As above, seemed easier after cross up but might have been me.

Honda

**Crouching - ** worked well at distance, couldn’t hit it at closest range, after adding a LP found it hit quite efficiently… Though i cut this one short, i’ll continue with him later.

I stopped caring about tiers months ago. Super is just so ridiculously balanced in terms of matchups (for the most part) it mainly comes down to the player.

Yeahhhh, I noticed my boo-boo immediately. I also don’t care much about tiers (Cammy is one of my HDR mains, she’s the worst character) but I’m curious to see how Akuma has dipped so low. He still has–I assume–the best offensive tactics in the game?

I was testing ways to punish guys blocked ex hazanto in the first week and I was managing to do cr.mp, fb, fadc, RH, bnb without much trouble.

Ok, so really weird Akuma moment. I’ve been playing IV and SSIV trying to complete the trials. Anyway, I had FP and FK mapped to the bumpers instead of the triggers, to me it felt more comfortable. So, I was struggling with the following combo in IV: (Hard Trial 3) cr. lk > cr. jab > st. fp > lk tatsu > SRK

I ended up using “RT” by mistake, which is my 3P button. The cr. jab > st. fp link connected IMMEDIATELY. Next combo? I linked st. jab to cr. fp without problems! Currently on Akuma’s last hard trial, and also I finally got the hang of FADC’ing! I also re-mapped my layout to default. Yeah, you could say I’m excited!

The link does not connect immediately and there should be difference in the timing between pressing HP and 3P, you probably just feel more comfortable with the button there.

cmp(counter), far standing hk is harder to do now?

i know that far standing hk is nerfed by 1 frame to prevent infinite loop.

but it felt like it prevented way more stuff.

harder almost impossible fadc hk combo.
cmp(counter) fadc combo.

my recent combo are like cmp,cmp,hado, fadc sweep…which really doesn’t hurt but allow me to go safejump/crossover.

and cmp(counter) sweep…easier…

akuma doesn’t do much damage now. low damage and a glassy body with lots of tricks.

Comboing into s.hk is character specific. It’s there you just have to experiment. Theres nothing else done to it. It’s in your mind.

As for damage, its like that across the board. As for average damage done per combo you will see that akuma still deals major damage and more than likely, more than most characters deal.

@nu-skool: dmg reduce overall is across the board, but combo reduce thus reducing damage even further isnt across the board.

im fine with shaku dmg nerf and dp dmg nerf.

im just trying to get use to st.hk combo. i think its out from my useable tool even from CH(almost)

so i’ll stick to c.mp(counter) sweep and then proceed safejumping.

anyway i won’t argue about it.

since i still play vanilla due to me working in the arcade. i get abit confused with bnb…

current bnb

is j.hk,chp,tatsu, medium dp, light shaku (for decent dmg and 651 stun)

or j.hk,chp,tatsu,ex dp(for dmg 500+stun)

i forgot the numbers they aren’t pretty exact. but am i right at the 2 i listed?

does anyone have any suggestions for safe blockstrings after something like a blocked dive kick??

Well there is only one “truly safe” block string and that is spamming crouching jabs. Everything else has some kind of gap in it. Now there are “somewhat” safe block strings. Try to use moves with an advantage on block. These include c.LP, c.MP, and s.LK. These will make it so if they try to attack with anything besides a reversal DP they will get hit.

Akuma still has many viable combos and can still score a potential 400+ damage combo off a fireball fadc. With the rest of his basic combos still averaging around the 300 mark.
Personally I dont see the big loss in fb xx fadc, s.hk, I personally would much rather opt for the sweep to setup the vortex.

Kirds, which dive kick are you talking about? Jump-in or demon flip?

Yeah I said it before I’m pretty sure that gives the most stun and it sets up the vortex alright.

Maybe I’m totally wrong but: I don’t see many people using cr. lk > cr. jab > st. fp > lk tatsu > fp SRK??? I’ve been able to pull it off quite well, it also hit confirms through the jab. Is it too risky online?
