Hi Per… just got my parts yesterday, as usual I’m really happy!

I do have one SMALL complaint… I’m not sure if this was a problem for other orders in the colder states… but here in SD the stickers used on the top of the buttons left a really nasty sticker residue and although I was able to get rid of it with a lot of elbow grease… the black seimitsu buttons I got have this layer of film that just won’t go away no matter how hard I scrub it down… Maybe next time the supplier should use a different type of sticker/plastic type thing to protect buttons? Just a thought.

Thanks again and I’ll definately order for the next batch again! Also is there any chance you can get a hold of Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 sticks or Virtua Stick High Grades? Let me know.

The shipping is broken up into 3 zones, which one represents North America, Toronto Ontario Canada to be specific.

The count down on the status page is counting down to the next shipment? I’m assuming that means an order can be placed within the next 2 weeks and make the next ship date ok.

…Also want to add how difficult it is to find this stuff. I really am surprised more people aren’t carrying these parts.

2. Zone 2. If you put your cursor over the zone it will tell you the countries that belong to that category.

3. Order date means that you must have your order in AND paid for by that date.

4. Per is the only person who offers the entire line of Sanwa and Seimitsu catalogue.

Also, since he hasn’t officially reopened the site for regular operation (regular order dates) that’s the main reason he didn’t change the status page. He only replied to your inquiry before because he was in fact taking orders for the quick batch, but since he has been too busy and since there are still problems with his contact, he has not officially reopened the site. Hence, it makes no sense right now to put in an order because does not typically respond to e-mails about orders until he has decided another order date.

Also:

1. You don’t need to order large quantities for ExcellentCom. I’ve done it in the past with smaller orders. Big or small they don’t care.

Are you kidding?! You mean I’ve been frustrated all this time for nothing? Doh!

2. You can’t order directly from Sanwa if you are not in Japan. They don’t ship internationally which is why they didn’t respond to you.

Hmm. Catch-22 and Armad1llo (d1llo was in California) used to order directly from them. Maybe they tightened up their protocol.

That is why I try to inform people to do the common sense stuff and read his webpage and check the status page. That way they don’t get pissed when they don’t get a response from him.

Yeah, Paik, I realized a day or so after posting that my message probably sounded like it was trying to take you to task or something; I didn’t mean to convey that at all. I meant to try to provide some perspective to others who I have seen get their undies in a wad over late orders.

Thanks for the info above – I still can’t believe I missed that about Excellent. Of course, it’s also been like three years since I emailed with an inquiry to them. Everything changes, obviously.

Sorry for these stupid problems :/, like I said before, if I would have been in Tokyo things would have gone VERY smooth. Who knows what will happen with Akihabarashop in the future…

in terms of joystick cable for sanwa jlf-tp-8y, why would you choose the Sanwa JLF-H over the Seimitsu H5-PIN?? The latter is cheaper and considered a lower cost alternative, but I am sure there is a reason why people would choose the sanwa cable instead.

Furthermore is the cable really necessary?? You can just solder wires onto the prong thingies, but are they difficult to solder onto?? They look rather small and thin…

The color coordination is different on the JLF-H and H5-PIN. You can change them if you want after getting them.

You can solder directly to the pins (or the microswitches for that matter) but it’s much cleaner and easier with them.

Not really any difference in quality, Seimitsu uses slightly stiffer wire than Sanwa but that’s all. Pretty much the only reason to choose one over the other would be if you had a hard-on for a certain manufacturer and wanted to build your stick using solely their parts.

If you can hack a PlayStation PCB you should have no trouble soldering directly to the terminals of a joystick microswitch PCB. The connector does look neater though and could come in handy if you ever needed to replace either the stick or controller PCB.
