do semitsu balltops fit on sanwas?
Yes, Som.

Neo! I received my order today and was very pleased. Although, one small detail is bothering me.
I ordered a couple of Sanwa LB-35-MP. Red, according to the picture. And mine are much closer to pink. Are they old and faded? Did I get the wrong balltops? Is my manliness lost forever if I use them anyway? Thanks. :lovin:
On the Sanwa and Seimitsu sticks I bought, the balltops keep unscrewing while I’m playing. Is this something I just have to get used to, or is there something I can do to stop it?
sittstav, they are closer to pink in color. That’s just the way they are. I believe they are supposed to be described as pink. The product ID has the extension MP (meshball pink) while the green was is MG (meshball green). It doesn’t exactly match any standard color. The closest match I’ve found is the Seimitsu PS-14-P (red) buttons. You can see how them compare here:

UltraDavid, to secure the balltop you need to put hold the shaft in place while tightening. To do this, look at the bottom of the joystick and you will see a slot on the shaft. Use a flathead screwdriver to hold the shaft stable and then turn the balltop to tighten it.

My Seimitsu parts came yesterday, and they are awesome. I expected the clear buttons to be more clear - they have some kind of paper insert or something in the center that isn’t clear. Still, they’re quite pretty.
I believe you can take that paper out of it.
If you’re talking about the PS-14-GN (clear), they have the same kinds of inserts as the PS-14-K. They aren’t paper, but have a colored plastic insert that fits inside the clear outer section. So the plunger is made of two parts instead of one like normal buttons. You can’t just remove the inner portion or the button will not function. When I have a little bit of time, I will take a pic of the dismantled button.

The technique I use for preventing ball tops from unscrewing can be found here.
Here are som pictures of a PS-14-GN (clear):

Wow, so that part is colored plastic. Guess there’s no way around that!
My buttons are PS-14Ks, and one PS-14-DN.
man everyone is getting there stuff. i’m anxiously awaiting mine…
need parts to play with…
sounds dirty doesn’t it…?
Supa, if I’m not mistaken you were part of the most recent order which means you still have some time to wait. Per is still working out orders from the previous order date so don’t expect to see parts within the next week.

No activity on the statuspage for a long time now, Per, any updates on the missing pics?
Paik, are the people that got their orders in by 10/15 the ones that are going to have to wait the extended period?
ok i been waiting ages for my parts, no pictures have been uploaded yet!
how long more will i have to wait?
If tightening them with a screwdriver doesn’t seem to work, try using super glue or something. I know that sounds like a stupid thing to do, and it very well may be…but when I did it I had no problem taking the balltop off when I had to and it didn’t seem to fuck anything up (like the threads in the ball or the shaft). However, I may have gotten lucky. Do this at your own risk.
I can’t say for sure since I don’t work for AkihabaraShop, but common sense would lead me to believe so. But again, that’s just speculation on my part. I’m honestly not in any big rush so I’m not getting worked up over it.
To everyone else who has comments, concerns, or complaints, please be a little understanding and keep in mind the following things:
**1) Per doesn’t do this as a living. It’s kind of a hobby and a side job.
-
AkihabaraShop is the only store in the world that can provide EVERY item in both the Sanwa and Seimitsu line AND that ships anywhere in the world.
-
Never has there been a SINGLE unsatisfied customer when things were all said and done. Per has always gone above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect or compensated for mistakes or problems.**
Given all this, you would think people would be a little more understanding the ONE time SOME orders didn’t go out within the expected typical time frame that is explicitly stated on his webpage. He even stated that problems were errors were on the parts of Sanwa/Seimitsu. Like any messed up purchase, it takes time to fix the problem, most of which is time that is in the hands of Sanwa/Seimitsu and not Akihabara.
I can understand for some of you first-time buyers being nervous. I’m sure I would be as well, but with over 800 posts in this thread and not a single negative feedback, I don’t think you could really ask for much more assurance.
Like they say, patience is a virtue. If that doesn’t really mean anything to you then think about how you would get parts without Akihabara.
How much more difficult would it be?
How much more expensive would it be?
How much more unreliable would it be?
Who else sells ALL the JLF series? Who else carries LS-33, LS-40, LS-55, LS-56, and the -01 styles of each of these?
Who else has the newest balltop and button color that Sanwa JUST came out with?
Who else has all the button styles AND all the colors for each?
Who is the person who has not only been nice enough to fill us in on Sanwa/Seimitsu news but even went out of his way to scan over 100 pages of catalogs from these companies with little or no thanks or credit?
Maybe if you guys asked yourselves these questions, you’d be a little more understanding…
~Paik
Wow, you sure do love Per. But I can hardly blame ya.
These delays were also caused by his Japanese business associate, and that’s not his fault. It’s frustrating, and it’d be nice if everyone could have been compensated. I’m glad I got my stuff, and once everything’s back on track, I’m sure the shop will be great again.
My order was from 9/30 and I’m still waiting on mine and so is another friend of mine. Talking to Paik on IM, I understand that Per is doing all he can to get those orders filled. I’ve ordered from Per plenty of times and I trust him. Unfortunately this order is not for me, but a friend of mine, but although he’s inquired about it, he’s been cool about it.
I vouch for Per as well so I hope everyone else can wait, so like Paik said he’s the only one on SRK that brings us all our lovely Japanese Sanwa/Seimitsu parts. And he’s even hooked me up with a Japanese PS2.
Yeah.
<---------- This guy was just asking a question, paik.
I was just wondering if those who ordered then were going to have to wait and that’s all I asked.
No bitching from
