Yes. I ordered from LL a full week before ordering from Akihabarashop.jp. My experience with Akihabarashop.jp has been far better. Better communication, faster inventory updates. LL just got an order in for new parts yesterday for stuff that he had to restock last week and is still OOS on white/blue buttons I believe.
As of right now Akihabarashop.jp has a better handle of this situation than LL and the owner of Akihabarashop.jp still has time to answer his emails and questions in his forum here. Just take a look at this thread and the one from LL.
Chad right now is just flooded, too many orders to fill, OOS on items & has been backed into a situation where in order to fill what orders he can, he is unable to answer a lot of question about orders from people. I see NeoGeo(Akihabarashop.jp) answering many many more questions from customers and potential customers here. Even when the questions or border on the customer being lazy.
Look at the mood of the customers in the LL thread then look at the mood of the customers in this thread. Night and day. Its like a soap opera. Right now the mood over there is hurry up and wait, cancel your order or STFU.
I guess the short answer to your question is YES. With an added you will have an easier time contacting the owner and knowing where you stand at Akihabarashop.jp as opposed to LL right now. Chad is way to swamped with orders, backordered and his supplies come from practically across the world, next door to Akihabarashop.jp

lol Ferris23 doesn’t know it but he is the way I “refound” Akihabarashop.jp. I saw a post of his politely talking about cancelling his order because he found some one that for him had a better ‘handle of the situation’. The response he got was like watching a non believer venture into a cult gathering. I didnt have a high enough post post count to PM him to get the name of the site he had found then later on in the day, coincidentally while looking through chads(LL) post history to find updates it dawned on me to do the same thing with Ferris23 to find what turned out to be Akihabarashop.jp. He and others have placed orders and recieved them in the amount of time I had been waiting on LL.

You’re right though, just look at the tone in this thread vs. that of the LL thread. It’s like at LL you place an order and hope for the best, here you have constant contact with Neo, updates as to what order they are on and when it will go out, and you can rest assured that stock will be refilled in no time because they are a hop skip and a jump from the supplier.
I said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m sure LL is a great company, but as a first time buyer I am glad I went with Akihabara, the customer service alone was worth it thus far. I like to have an idea what is going on with my money and Neo respects that and takes care of it.
Look at the folks in the LL thread, people who ordered weeks ago have no idea what is going on, I understand they are busy, but that ain’t right.
Ya…I’m giving LL a couple more days then I’m canceling and ordering from Akihabarashop. Should have listened to my buddy in the gone with them in the first place.

I was in the same boat as you. Placed an order over a LL on the 18th before the delay message was posted and found myself waiting for my parts to ship and after a week I decided to look elsewhere since I knew that even if it was shipped, it would take another 2 to 3 weeks to arrive (since I live in Canada and picked the slowest shipping). I then came across Akihabara and the service was spectacular… though the website was somewhat difficult to navigate through, but I had time to figure it all out. Once my order was placed, I got updates and an order history to keep track of what is going on with my money. Then yesterday, Neo posted pictures of my order and I felt like a kid in a candy store (though without the candy… yet).
It was also cheaper in at Akihabara and I was able to upgrade to the fastest shipping so that in the end, the order total was the same, but this time I didn’t have to wait until my order ships and another 2-3 weeks for my order to arrive. Akihabara got my order processed and shipped in less than a week, which is amazing considering the demand. My order that was placed one week later at Akihabara shipped sooner than the order I placed at LL (which I’m not sure how much longer it would have took since LL had some catching up to do).
I just like to know what is going on with my order once money has left my hand, though I’m sure LL would be able to do the same if they had more staff and wasn’t so swamped… it would just be a hassle for them to answer my e-mails and phone calls. I’m sure LL is a great company and Chad being a great guy, but at the moment, the turn around time for Akihabara to LL is like a rabbit vs turtle race. Sure, slow and steady works… but I prefer speed. That is speed with great customer service.
I’ll probably give LL another try in the future (if i need anything), but Akihabara is #1 in my books.
Neo, quick question. I got a status update for #1498, but it says Airmail delivered. I did the upgrade to EMS, is there any way to get my tracking info and is it normal for the status to say delivered when it was actually just shipped?

Hey, I just put up an order last night. Order #1654! Hopefully it went through smoothly. Oh and I wanted to say thanks for all the support that you have been giving all your customers. It’s amazing how you can keep up with everyone and everything AND still be sane. Your hard work is really appreciated here obviously.

I highly recommend any “lurkers” out there to order from this site. I’m sorry but you simply can’t beat the service considering the demand for this stuff right now.
I hate to sound like a kiss ass but I am really impressed with how this operation runs. Little details like getting a picture of your order could be the coolest thing since tracking numbers, and if you have questions, they get answered fast!
