Big thanks to Sp00ky for being super hospitable/awesome again. Kudos to everyone that showed interest in the game and participated in the tourney. It was astonishing to see virtually the entire cast of the game represented in such a small tourney and over the course of the weekend.

Oh man, Blitz was too damn hype for me last wknd. Haven’t had that much fun w/ a fighter in quite sometime.
Props to Bell for coming through yet again to get down on Das Blitzen Aktion (fuck those ‘other games’). I need to xcopy those Boom ‘n’ Boots blockstrings to complete my zol. Tinshi for being randomly funny even when sober and running mad GIMMICKS stamp w/ mura. Rithli for always staying hard-fucking-core into ABK - A “Blitz Heil!” salute to you, sir. Spooky, for holding down the fort and letting us hold down a bit of it as well as breaking two SauF body-count records! (13 heads + a chick!? :looney:). Always the good host. Sphyra for wowing the crowd w/ his day 0 mage. Keep playing that bitch plz cus we need more ppl running the bs characters of the cast! Zaelar should get back into ABK because I sense growth in its future and you should be there to accompany the community as you’re somewhat of an ‘OG’ player. And Hal…stop crushing keyboards. :arazz:
Apparently ABK was so hype at SauF V that the rep files for several different laptops (and one desktop) exceeded 200 total reps for each station the game was played on :amazed: . Reps feature: Zol (red = bell, other/white = zar), kanae (rithli), akatsuki (default = rithli, random), murakumo (tinshi), mage (blue = spyra, white = zaelar [not 100% on this] ), mari (sibladeko), nun (rithli, zar), sai (xaq), and possibly more!
Bellreisa has a bunch of matches on from his laptop as well. Hopefully he will see this post and throw those up as well.

You should netplay mauve’s fritz, he’s in the WC (Washington) and we had acceptable lag.
Very long matches that goes down to the last few seconds.
The highpoint of those matches was when he drove Fritz’s ABC right into my Marilyn’s 214[A] mixup.
We used delay 4.

Isn’t there an IRC Channel related to this game? Because I really want to play vs. people in it.
people stopped playing it online due to subpar netplay, although mauve’s patch improved it slightly.

But as in “slightly” does it really make it playable online…like ggpo playable?
Blitz’s netplay is slightly below Caster’s, and Caster is the standard client for IaMP and Melty Blood. Caster uses input delay to compensate for the lag, and while the connections are very good, some people simply do not like input delay of any kind. GGPO’s method goes beyond simple input delay and thus acheives a superior connection quality. Blitz’s netplay is playable from coast to coast given perfect conditions on both sides (wired connections, no downloads or uploads going, no high-latency hops in between) but falls slightly short of Caster (not by much IMO) and definitely below GGPO level.
