Seriously, though: Akatsuki is one of many doujin fighters that are actually good. I jerk VMan’s chain a lot by telling him EFZ sucks, but the thing is that the production quality between some games is just too big (and the content doesn’t help sometimes): look at Melty Blood, which had ridiculous production value since day one, and look at EFZ. I think a lot of people will go, yes, EFZ’s gameplay is a lot deeper, but knowing how people are with games in general, how many people do you really think care?
Akatsuki gets by I think because the game feels “complete” even with the missing characters. Like, the music, the voices, the interface, the art – everything comes together pretty well and just works. I don’t know that EFZ manages to capture that kind of feel (despite, perhaps, being more complicated to play).
Yes, QOH was pure crap, that was just an example… not the best one indeed. As for EFZ, whatever people say it has a damn good engine. Now certainly if someone prefers to play SC3, I have nothing to add.
As for “how people are with games in general”, I don’t think this is a good point because veeery little time ago, nearly no one would have given a PC game a chance, no matter what it looked like. So yes, Akatsuki is decent and doesn’t has a more “adequate” presentation than a lot of doujin figthers. I still doesn’t make me want to play it more than EFZ (or even monster to quote a game with more hype atm)
But anyway I must be kinda stupid art-wise since I actually find Kinnikuman MGP Max one of the best 3D fighters I’ve played in my life… oh wait, I play fighters for the engine
Nice find. :lovin: It does about 9139 damage on someone with full life.
An easier version of this combo that does ~300 points less damage and is like 5000 times easier to execute:
j.C, s.C, f+C, jump j.A … j.B, land, jump j.A j.B, land s.C xx dd+C (second hit) xx ABC (8863 damage)
Festival: That doesn’t mean people will play a game they don’t find aesthetically attractive. A lot of people are going to look over a game where the entire cast is little girls. It just happens.
