am i the only one still playing this terrible game? level 43, got betoni’s sword after doing spy quest, gave me huge boost to DPS, too bad it doesn’t have +attack speed and i have failed miserably trying to socket it. gotta say the grind isn’t too bad, i know around 48 you need like 95 million or whatever to level up, but it honestly doesn’t seem that bad. slow and steady wins the race. in this case, the reward is to be top level in a turd of a game. but i gotta say, rifting is ridiculously fun, so i’m doing a lotta that. i’m hoping by the time i hit 50 they’ll make some major improvements to this game. if not, starcraft 2 or star trek online or diablo 3 or some better game will be out.
Would anyone be willing to send me a free trial? http://na.aiononline.com/referral/ You get a free month and I really want to try this game. All my friends who played quit or I would of asked them. Don’t want to get back into WoW.
lol why on earth would you want to play this game? its riddled with problems and its dead, just like this thread. the only fun thing is ganking low level noobs, there’s nothing else to do. the grind isn’t bad or too long, its just BORING. so it seems like forever.
even the core ppl in my legion quit after hitting 50. the only ones who still play run a botting program on their alts cause the games so boring to play for real LOL.
oh and level 44 now.
I am deeply disappointed in Aion now. I hope it changes in future.
age of conan, real talk.
if you got fucked over by the gem changes. sorry! i understand if you dont come back
if you dont already have bad blood for AOC. game is mean still and 3.0 combat revamp is NICE
didn’t AOC just utterly die once the developers made some shitty game changes and server modifications and like everyone angrily quit.
You know what? I think you’re lying and you actually love this game. It’s your guilty pleasure and you refuse to admit it.
yes that’s why i mentioned the gem change
so far it seems so much better than before. too bad ppl that ragequit before wont try the game again.
Nah. People ragequit cuz the game sucks…especially with a low pop. PvP isn’t PvP without players.
I would if I were still playing. There’s a reason this thread’s dead. I hit 40 and quit in November.
oh hi, whats up hearsay havent seen you for awhile. but for reals mmos fall victum to the ‘first impression’. WARHAMMER atleast offers you to come back for a trial period. AOC should do that and advert the new system changes and maybe say ‘vet rewards are valid if you renew’.
k i’ll stop the aoc talk in the aion thread
and if someone wants a referral im down to help you out
Damn no one can help me with a trial? =/
checks your PMS. Im ready to leave out the door, wont be back for another 5 hours. just so you know i wont respond asap
You haven’t seen my troll posts on aion source forums. i love bashing it yes. as for the game itself, its very beautiful, and i enjoy rifting. i go kisk less for the adrenaline rush. i’ve never died to an ely while solo rifting, have died when i’ve gone in groups. i also enjoy responding for calls to help and destroying nublets much lower level than me.
why do i still play? i am stubborn and refuse to let this game beat me. i will hit 50, and punish nubs who think this game is good, raping them repeatedly in the face, and stabbing in the face while they are aerially bound until they hate the game as much as i do.
there’s a number of gaping flaws with this game. these are but a few of the reasons people have quit:
- drop rates too low. haven’t even done DP runs yet, but i hear you can do hundreds of runs without a single orange. each run takes hour of course. time/effort is not rewarded. even if you manage to do the S class run, the % increase in drop rate is like 0.00000000001% improvement.
- miragent/fenril quest. even more gay than DP runs. one of the items in this set requires you to craft a hot heart of magic. that requires 200 balaur bloods. on average, 1 drops every 2 hours of grinding balaurs. it has a low chance of proccing. its totally random and rewards those who can roll dice well. and that’s just assuming you pass the expert craft test, which also costs millions of kinah and rewards how well you can roll the dice. some people have done a dozen attempts, with each attempt taking dozens of hours and 30 million kinah. on my server, boiling balaur blood stains are like 300k.
points 1 & 2 cliff notes - the grind BEGINS at 50.
- there are lots of problems with pvp. losing AP for dying is a disincentive for pvp. that’d be fine, except every time you die, you’ve got to take a teleporter and get back to the action. in other words, it takes forever to get back into the action, and it costs money too. there aren’t very many places you can place a kisk, which btw are too expensive. if you find a good hiding spot, its gonna be far form the action. finally, there is no end game rifting, brusthonin/theo are closed off for rifting. WTF?! Oh and LOL that farming guards gives more AP than pvp. This game isn’t pvp, its pve.
OH AND AERIAL MEELEE COMBAT IS BROKEN. the code is shoddy, the positional lag between client and server is unacceptable.

complete lack of endgame content. see 1&2. ncsoft, not knowing what to do for end game content figured, hey lets be lazy and make them grind, maybe they won’t notice. then they moronically decided to lower the fortress cap timers to 30 min. in korea, they can take it in 30 min. in NA/EU, the upper forts haven’t changed hands since the change. right now, level 50s are quitting the game faster than new 50s can replace them, making it so that capping forts in upper or mid abyss is not possible. GOOD JOB NCSOFT

grind is boring. its not that it takes a long time, its just that its mind numbingly boring. lets take MMV. the mobs aren’t stimulating to fight. they just have a shitload of HP. that’s it. and when they’re low on life, they throw up a shield as a big fuck you. there’s no variation, no challenge.

broken economy. because drop rates are too low, and the RNG too gay, crafting has become unprofitable. while expert items do sell for many millions, but because expert fluxes cost half a mill, and most of the time you fail to proc, ppl rarely even break even if lucky. selling mats is more profitable than crafting LOL. i think alchemy is the only profitable craft, and maybe cooking. i dont know, i was smart and didn’t bother wasting money crafting once i realized it was a suckers game.
there’s a lot more problems, that’s just a short list. but yes, i will still play until i hit 50. i’m losing motivation, but my hatred for this game keeps me going.
I finally got an aion phishing email 2 months after i cancelled
“ip address” trying to reset you password, if this am not you, please logon to (Insert displayed link of the NCSoft account management page going to a different website) and reset you password
God, who falls for this crap?
I will say one more thing that I like about aion. as i said before, the grind isn’t so bad, its just that its boring. example, i just timed myself, i forced myself to grind non stop for an hour, and got about 5 million xp. i have 35 million more xp to go, which is only 7 hours. now, what’s “great” about this boring grind is that it takes true willpower to get to higher levels. as a result, most people quit around 40. this puts me in the “elite”. when i rift, i can murder most people outright (decloak, flurry, ambush, 3 carve, aerial bind, surprise attack, weakening blow, crash, focused evasion if they still alive, counter attack, whirlwind, swift edge, soul edge), and even if i can’t, its a stalemate. even higher level characters who try to hunt me are often unable to kill me, except for level 50 sins decked out in miragent. when elyos come into morheim to gank others, i stroll in and stab them in the face once or twice and they are dead. by the time I hit 50, i’ll be a god, since most of the other 50s will have rage quit over the lack of endgame content.
that’s a nice feeling. ultimately, the game will grow stale and boring and i will tire of the grind. until then, i’m going to focus on hitting 50. today i made a discovery, by playing final fantasy 6 music instead of the crappy aion battle music, i am way more focused. it brings back memories of my childhood and an actually enjoyable game.
all your gripes with aion, i can echo fishjie
my biggest gripe with it is the economy part mainly as in my eyes it hinders the rest of the game. well come to think of it drop rates, like crafting procs, come into play with economy as well.
oh hit im lvl 25 i want a blue, 700K? NO THANKS and its just downhill from there
I never got that PM wrrza. Did you send it yet?
That was one of my largest gripes with the game. You hit a certain level, go buy your skills, which are already a money sink, buying the different skill levels, and then try to get some armor or weapon, but, unfortunately, the weapon alone would bankrupt you.
Drop rates are horrible. “Oh, you’re a glad; you have to get UD or assassins will rape you immediately.” Thanks, it’s only 3 million.
nigga you masochist
