its technically NCSoft, but arena net is essentially an entirely different company. it was founded by blizzard employees, same dudes who made blizzard, starcraft, diablo, and wow. i actually finally got an interview with them, but i already had a job offer with another company at that point, but just from talking to them, it just sounds like a way better company. cares about their games and customers and such.
whereas NCSoft releases underwhelming patches that don’t address all the horrible bugs in this game and then adds insult to injury by doing a piss poor job translating the release notes.
so about a week ago i found summon water spirit III. i had no clue how much to sell it for cause i didnt see it on the auctions. i checked the forums and found that water spirit 2 was about 400k. so i sold mine for a mill. it sold. did i undersell it??? could i have sold it for millions? given how ridiculous the drop rates are in this game… lulz i can sell those expert fine armor fluxes or whatever theyre called for 600k and some sucker will buy it every time
Yeah, I know all about ArenaNet. I played the GW betas, and ArenaNet was bought by NCsoft at that time. I got GW the weekend it was released and then played it on and off for 3 years, but it’s stale now. I’m looking forward to GW2, but I’m concerned since two of the three founders no longer work for ArenaNet and now head NCsoft West.
ah i didnt know two of them left. hmm. well at the very least, it will be a westernized mmo as opposed to the asian aion.

GW2 looks sick. i remember playing the hell out of the first one. got a pretty high rank in hall of heroes by abusing all monk team with signet of judgement (that me + guild made up for shits and giggles), and then smashing the scrubs who tried to xcopy. even got one of the “famous” teams pissed at us.

I played beta but got annoyed by the spawn camping and such, so I thought id wait a bit for it to calm down.

apparently the grind is bad and ppl quit the game after 40
out of my original friends, only me and another are still playing. the suicide of the guild leader didn’t help things. im just going at a slow and enjoyable pace so i dont burn out im only 39. it definitely takes longer with each level, but i’m in no hurry.
My friend’s guild leader got stabbed by his wife because nigga was playing too much or shit.

o yah i made a post about it a while back
basically he was a depressed dude who sought to escape from his life via MMOs. (he was level 40 while everyone else was still low 30s). lots of people seek escape from their problems via video games. well that never works and it definitely didn’t work in his case. he shot himself.
isnt FF just an even worse asian MMO? i just recalled how a bunch of failures at life spent 18 hours trying to kill a boss (and failing to do so too). just google final fantasy boss takes 18 hours.
FFXI was the grindiest of all games. It was devoid of content.
Granted, I still love the game to death and will probably start playing my dancer again. The classes are too awesome.

And yea, I kinda missed out on FFXI. Guess I was too busy TP killing people in D2.
