I have my lvl 34 Sin sitting ideally around, and I will not use that character no longer. I feel the same exact way as what you just posted above about Sins being more gear dependent then most other classes.
They feel like an expensive class, which at the moment, I feel isn’t the right place for me, in which I’ll make a ton of kinah, but blow it all away on crafting, buying, other misc etc, etc. I know some Sin’s who make kinah like it’s milk so they can compensate for this, and they kick ass in PvP for it as well.
I’d rather spend less, and still be solid instead, however buying and creating pieces for the Worthy Noble set at lvl 23 was an absolute nightmare and cost me tons of kinah, however this set should last for a long time, I’m hoping.
Lastly, is it just me, or is the success with armory much greater then that of weapons. I swear, trying to successfully make the weapon you want is annoying as hell, while I’ve had greater success with armors up to this point.
Assassin is MAD gear dependant. And yeah, it does suck ass that Ambush can’t be used in the air and it shares cooldown with Dash Attack. If we could use both, we’d be able to stay on the kiters and runners and deal the effload of damage we’re supposed to.
If a fighting game maker looked at Aion’s hitboxes they’d laugh. Or cry. Or both. They fucking suck. And as a result, melees have an inherent disadvantage in damage dealing over ranged guys…which shouldn’t happen.
because this was my first MMO, i was very dumb in how i approached it. my extract vitality is at 262 and extract aether is at 203, but i didnt level up my crafting, except cooking, which if i had bothered to check the auctions i would have realized is worthless from a money standpoint (except that DP restoring food). i can make pretty good money if i collect blue or green mats, likewise high grade aether and greater aether gems, but nowhere near the millions i could make if i procced a blue on an armor or a weapon.
oops.
so i’m just barely scrapin by, auctioning off mats, and vendoring all the white items i can come across when i grind. after buying skill books and such, theres not a lotta money left. i’m still 70 shy of my soft crit cap
Interesting read, however although it doesn’t pertain to the Assassin I’ve actually stacked all of my equipment on my Temp with Crit +10’s, and a few +11’s. Only my shield has block bonuses on it, and thus far, I’m actually liking it. I never really felt HP stacking was all that, and if I had a choice, I would prefer block over HP stacking anyday, due to better access to skills in that way, and also taking less damage.
However I’m really enjoying Critical, hopefully in my next equipment, which probably won’t be until probably lvl 33 or 34, I’ll try to get the highest critical stack you can, I want to see my Criticals for a Temp! Yes, I’m probably playing unconventional, however I’ve always been a Str/Critical whore in my time playing mmorpgs (ex: Agi/Str Hybrid Whore Knight back in the OG Ragnarok Online Days :lovin:)
yeah i’m thinking hp stack isn’t as good as stacking evasion for my sin. i hear in end game pvp and pve you can take thousands of damage per attack, so the evasion would probably be better for survivability in the end game. a coupla hundred extra hp aint gonna do much im thinkin, as opposed to dodging an attack entirely.
likewise, p defense doesn’t sound useful, at least accordin to this thread, because it just doesn’t scale well with damage:
Physical Defense is a garbage stat in this game, I kinda think they need to adjust that a bit better. Evasion gets owned by a ton of high level abilities that always hit (notably Precision Cut). The only thing a Sin, hell pretty much all melees need be concerned with stacking until 440 is Crit, Crit and Crit.
After that, Evasion or Attack or HP become options. Oh, and did I mention to stack Crit?
its kinda gay cause the rune detonations are all considered magic attacks, so they require magical accuracy to hit, but of course, we can’t afford to stack that. but if other ppl stack magic resist, we get nullified. supposedly the counter is this skill that boosts magical accuracy.
Can’t believe it took me so long to notice this thread…but yea, I play an Elyos 40 Temp on Triniel, name Seraphin. Trying to grind to 41 to get that Xeno quest done.
it doesn’t matter what your crit rate in your off hand is, it does not contribute to the crit rate. only bonus stats on offhand weapon and any manastones in it will contribute to the crit rate of the main hand. so the crit rate for the offhand is a meaningless number. so you don’t average out the crit rates on the two weapons, you just take the crit rate for the main hand. at least, that’s what it sounds like.
…
but really from reading all these threads it sounds like theres still a lot more tests to be done and ppl are still trying to reverse engineer these things.
That is related but not relevant to my nerd craft above.
Offhand Crit is not a factor. Offhands only contribute to Crit via manastones and weapon bonuses (not the base 50 or 100 with sword or dagger)
If an offhand has 2 +15 Crit stones and the tooltip says +10 Crit, then it will give you 40 to MAIN hand Crit.
It won’t give 90 or 140 if its a sword or dagger respectively. It will just give 40.
You only ever look at your Mainhand Crit. I’m saying I ride 340 Mainhand Crit and generally kill stuff before it leaves my stun lock.
oh wait never mind, i’m in agreement with you, i misunderstood your post. you were taking the average of your regular crit on main hand, and the crit after you do the +100 crit buff. gotcha.
i’m sure someone will eventually come out with a calculator that lets you determine the best crit and attack stone slotting to maximize your average damage
Man…I spent alot of materials and kinah yesterday to make multiple Worthy Noble pieces…hopefully they will eventually sell at the broker. I blow away 1.3k Titanium Ores yesterday that I’ve saved up.
I’ve literally stopped lvling and just craft all day now, I need to get back into lvling again sometime.
The only thing that blows is that everyone here at srk is playing on different servers, so we are all scattered. Too bad we didn’t get together before hand, choose a server and then played with one another, imo, it would have been more fun that way.
On top of it, the assholes made it so you can’t block someone by right-clicking anymore. You have to MANUALLY type every goddamn bot’s name into the fucking Block List now. :wtf:
