I’m thinking about switching my Gladiator to Assassin. If I do, I’ll update my character list.
so lets talk about the level 50 peeveepee tournament and random pvp in general
if you dont know already the format is kinda wack, its like KOF style 3v3 with no switching. apparently theres no flying either.
anyways heres my thoughts after watching:
- pvp seems to be 90% running away, even if youre a melee class vs a melee class. thats kinda disappointing, there are fighting games released in 2009 i can play if i want to do that. HO HO
- assassins seem to get roflstomped by anything thats even remotely aware that theyre going to get hit. with templars and such i saw some assassin do the whole stunlock launch into air combo thing on a templar, and as soon as the temp can move again he turns around and gibs the assassin in roughly 5 seconds. i dunno where all that burst damage comes from but im glad its there, lol.
- speaking of templar, they look top tier at the level cap. top tier like SF4 gief with an airdash. some of the templars in the tournament probably could have gotten an ocv if it werent for another templar on the other team
- sorcs seem to be broke too, but more like blazblue nu broken with huge damage output but get hit a few times and you die. apparently their ultra does 80-100% life damage? which is hilarious if true.
- assassins with polearms. wtf? apparently better than normal dw-ing assassins too.

Assassins got a nerf in 1.5, lowering their DPS. At least on daggers from 2.5 to 2.2. It’s almost comical how assassins in almost all MMO’s start out as they are appropriately named…Assassins. Then the QQ fest begins, and they are nerfed in to oblivion.
Are you speaking of KOR tournament format?
Because it’s heavily favored in Templar/Gladiator.
No Flying, Assassins can’t use Stealth, etc. If you’re watching game chosun videos, the majority of the battles have teams with very mixed gear. There’s videos of 1 Sorc who’s the highest geared just gibbing everyone.
And there’s a video of an Assassin vs Templar in even gear, and it’s about 2 minutes of waiting out Templar CDs, then the Assassin turns around and ‘stunlocks’ him in 7 seconds for victory.
I wouldn’t base much off of KOR Tournaments.

The ruleset is wack as hell and favored temps. In real pvp situations, assassins wouldn’t go for temps anyway. Temps can largely be ignored (unless crit build) because they have low damage output. Just kill all the squishies and the templar is left with his dick in his hand lol.
Sorcs seem good. Long ass roots make it a nightmare for melee.

Why on earth would people discuss balance in MMO PvP, as if theirs some sort of skill to it XD.
I can’t decide between Glad and Temp… since apparently a large majority of high level PvPers in Kaion are Temps. And, it doesn’t help to see the poll in the Warriors forum at AionSource about Glad or Temp: 658 to 662.
