It makes sense for UT to be better range wise over the SPD, in 3S it felt worthless, so they both have their useages.
i dont think giefs LP SPD nerf was warranted at all
its odd that EX BB has more invicableily it looked like they nerfed it in those vids, it seems to me that they are actually advocating it as a decent anti air/get out of the corner in a pinch move.
The super into BB nerf, ouch 160 lost eh? But it does sort of make sense having that much damage off a move that can punish fireball users (and who knows what else, i assume its got throw and hit protection as well dependant upon what button is used) or just a ST.Lk was a bit silly.
To top it off in my opinion promoted a rather one dimensional strategy going for the super every time.
so is it this weekend when peeps get to test stuff out again?
woah, someone stated a few pages back that EX MS also had infinate armor as well, given they look similar could folks be mistaking one for the other or do we actually get double awesome?
Well, maybe you can armor cancel into super… super is “only” invincible on frame 3-11, so you can absorb one hit with armor and go through more moves with invincibility
Don’t get too excited folks, there will undoubtedly be some stealth nerfs when it’s actually released.
Why do I say this? Well, I highly doubt they are going to let restand after ms stay, and people are already saying that st.hp has been nerfed, neither of which have been listed in the changelog.
Hopefully I’m wrong, but I have a feeling something bad is going to happen by the time we actually get to play him.
If I had to guess, light lariat change sounds like it was intended as a buff. The idea is probably to boost his counterpoking ability with c.LP/c.LK somewhat by making LK lariat able to combo at longer ranges if Hugo clips a limb or something.
If this happened at a long enough range (say Hugo c.LPs a high s.HK or something with a big fat hurtbox), the game logic would detect some distance between Hugo and the opponent, determine that lariat needs to run forward before executing (even if LK lariat didn’t run very far before), the startup would be slightly increased, and Hugo might not get a combo because the lariat wouldn’t go active in time. But if you take out the run, the attack’s guaranteed to be the same speed at all distances, which should theoretically increase his combo range with that move. A very minor change, but it sounds like a buff to me.
It’s a huge buff, that means you can always end a combo with a light into LK lariat, as long as the lariat is in range, and you don’t have to worry about it getting blocked and punished.
Lk lariat is definitely a buff it’ll mean if we land c.lk or s.lk or maybe even c.lp lariat will connect as long as it’s not like max range probably. I’m also thinking it’s easier to use as anti air into bb
