Not sure if any of you read the comic, but I found it quite funny. Anyways, this is a drawing done on paint with a mouse. First it was drawn in paint, colored in OpenCanvas, then lastly I watercolored it in php 7.
Stage 1
Stage 2
Stage 3
Feel free to critique or flame. Would also like some tips on shadows if possible. I really don’t know where to put shadows.
Not bad crow.
Stage 2 is my favorite of the three. Your line work looks pretty good and I am amazed at your mouse skills. Now when it comes to color you need some work. Like you said it doesnt seem like you knew where to put them. Well, before you figure out where to put the shadows, you have to first imagine where the light source is coming from. If the light is coming from the left side of the guys face, then the shadows will be more on the right and vise versa. Its kind of tricky but it just takes some practice. If you would like some more help on it, check out Dynamic Light and Shade by Burne Hogarth.
Tight work!!! If you have anymore mouseart go to my thread: http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59559
Thanks Hiten, for the tips and all. I was wondering though, what say if your character or object is lit in front of the face with a front view angle. Would everything be lit? or would the farther left and right edges be darker?
Thanks white shadow, I’ll do that when I get some done.
Well the best way to figure that out is to stand in front of a mirror with a flash light. Then take note to where all the highlights and shadow lay on your face.
true… guess I’ll have to experiment here and there to find that out, thanks hiten.
