Sagat: ex oroshi > f+lk > c.mp > mk tsurugi (meaty) it was under the cross tsurugi setups
ohhhh, thanks, shoulda checked that …
So i’m getting started learning to plink properly. Done a couple of practises with Ryu & E.Ryu (My second/s) to get the basic idea down.
Anybody recommend any combos with Mak I can practise learning that utilize plinking other than Hayate-cancel plink MP?
Linking two medium punches is a pretty nice combo if you can, finish with hayate or EX Oroshi
Basically all of her hit-confirm combos go into st.MP or cr.LK, or the normally unplinkable st.LK. Unless you wanna really get your st.MP plink on, you might wanna look to other characters for practice.
Actually you can plink cr LK Alioune was plinking all his cr LK’s when he was playing yang lol , ludicrious … oh and what’s up , long time no see lol :]
You misread, he said you cant plink st.LK.
ooooh lol , I’m quicker to talk , not read lol … my mistake xD anyway , whats up with you guys , I forgot my password here when I reinstalled my windows so thats why I was absent -_- any new technology-thingies ? I saw some matches with vryu against some makoto in WGC (in england if im not mistaken) … he’s got some new tricks again like meaty f+MP … weird lol
Something interesting I just noticed. I dunno if anyone can find a use for it but it is certainly a “hmmm that is odd” kind of thing.
This applies to AE, I dunno about v2012 (as it’s STILL not on the PC for another week.)
Target Combo 1 has odd movement properties. If you roll from LK to MK it will move you slightly forward (about 1/7th of one of the large black squares in training room) however if you delay the MK until as late as possible the target combo moves you BACKWARDS an almost equal amount as it would forwards if you did lk-mk as fast as possible.
Maybe someone could find a use for this for throw baiting or something I dunno but I just thought it was interesting.
That is interesting
This is a completely non important question, but when Makoto has her winning pose where she assumes a low stance with one hand out like a claw and looks all bad ass what does she say?
I heart that win pose, wanna marry it.
There used to be an old thread here about Makoto’s speech and quotes. I’m not that good at Japanese and she speaks a nonstandard dialect but I think the one you’re referring to is “kanzen shouri ja” which roughly means “complete victory”.
Ok I’m having trouble consistently doing this but I landed it a couple times on Ibuki in training mode (only char I’ve tested it on so far):
s.LK has ever so slightly more range than s.MP. I found that you can do s.MP (hit) x2 and then the s.LK will both frame trap if they attack (since s.LK is 5F startup and s.MP is +5 on hit but I couldn’t get it to HIT) and if they block the s.LK you can do a blockakusa.
The thing is that the timing is SUPER strict because you are hitting the blocked LK at literally max range so you actually need to cancel the LK to the HK karakusa on the very last active frame so that you get a small forward movement. HK karakusa is 9F startup and LK has 8F recovery (putting it at 0F on block) so canceling it on last active frame should make the HK karakusa come out at 0 advantage or -1 (for you)
I spent a while practicing it but I was only able to land it like a half dozen times.
btw you can do s.MPx1-Target Combo 1 - Hayate which does more stun/dmg/meter than s.mp-s.mp-hayate. However use s.mpx2 if you are going to do an EX hayate because TC1 adds an extra hit so you get more dmg scaling on the fukiage and ex tsurugi.
Problem with S.MP > Target Combo is that it’s difficult to Plink. S.MP > S.MP would be more reliable that way.
Yeah, it’s in AE2012. I’ve just sat there when bored a few times just doing it while reading forums and stuff.
Actually one thing to consider is that you can’t plink the TC, where as you can plink s.MPx2.
That being said i do like both s.MPx2, TC1, hayate as well as s.HP, HC, sMP, TC1 Hayate. They are very difficult but lots o fun.
i’ll be lucky if i ever pull off any of those in a match lol, i’m that BAD!
I’ve been doing pretty good with Makoto now after some grinding but one thing i think i’m doing wrong is the lack of Standing HK. I always see other Mak’s talking about how amazing the move is and i do think it’s good. But my problem is on wake up i always prefer a Oroshi, Karakusa, Cr. LK or Standing MP. I’ve never really figured out why HK would be a option as a meaty attack over any of these other choices?
Well there’s the 250 stun lol.
Also in the corner, you can combo into sMP>combo of death after which 99% of the cast would be dizzy.
So I was just messing about in training mode and i found some setups I wanted to share. Probably not very practical since I usually burn my ex meter but you never know right?
FA lvl 3, HP fukiage xx super, f. lk(reset), meaty s. Mp, ultra 1(or other meaty Mp follow up)
Damage : 793
Stun: 463
Obviously risky, as is any reset, but the pay off is great. Obviously, it loses to certain moves…not sure what moves in particular but I’m looking into that, if anyone knows what meaty mp beats and could tell me that’d be nice. If they block the mp I’d probably go for a karakusa, or just regular pressure. If mp whiffs(teleport, ex seismo cancel) then maybe there is a way to OS something in to catch them? Not sure about that stuff, I’m new to OSs. Also, on Abel if he ex rekkas for some reason, go ahead with the ultra, it’ll hit. And if viper ex seismos without the cancel u can still ultra her.
FA lvl 3, HP fukiage xx super, ultra 2
Damage: 372
Stun: 328
I was just trying to see if it would work lol. If you land a FA lvl 3 you have more damaging combos obviously, or just go straight to full animation ultra 2.
FA lvl 3, super, ultra 2, jump fierce(reset)
Damage: 414
Stun: 320
Not completely useless since you get a reset with super activated?
FA lvl 3, super, ultra 2, jump hk tsurugi
Damage: 452
Stun: 320
shrugs mk tsurugi and lk tsurugi hit too, but no follow ups worked for me, maybe someone knows something I dont? (which is very likely)
So, what do you guys think? If this has already been discussed…sorry >.>…
Edit: forgot FA lvl 3, super, ultra 2, dash, f.lk(whiff), f. lk reset
I just crouching fierced an Abel out of his ultra, can someone explain how I did that? Is it a reliable counter to his ultra 1 or did I just get lucky?
