Ex oroshi seems a bit risky tho if they go for a raida no? I would think a solid option would be block then punish the next jump if they like sjc after the tc. Idk I haven’t had much experience against ibuki tho
You mean ex oroshi could be grabbed by raida?
Actually raida is not a grab, it’s a hit move, so if im not mistaken oroshi strike immune startup should make it whiff.
Or maybe i missed your point, in which case forget about what i said.

[*]Omg i went from 5000 to 4060 bp and 2500 to 1870 something pp today…smh why cant i stay consistant? i got to the point where i just started to lose to the most RANDOM stuff… gimmicks and all vs Ryus and Dudleys and Blankas (alot of blankas) …other characters too but mostly them… i dunno what i should do to stay consistant these days? should i just hit up training mode and practice? should i just keep playing for experience and i will soon catch on ? if someone has an answer i would be so greatful …plz help someone give me some details of something you would work on after feeling like your inconsistant and whatnot

A lot of times I start getting hit by all that shit, I realize it’s unsafe and usually preemptive rather than reactive. I try to quickly assess why I’m getting hit, and usually the only consistent counter to these things is to stop jumping/dashing entirely, and inch forward with walking and at the most f+MP, with much stopping to block in between. At this point, if they continue on their path, 9/10 I’ll turn it around unless lag makes my defense unusable; then I’m screwed
Oroshi is strike immune for only 12 of 18 of its startup frames. Raida has a 6F startup and 5F active, its really not a stretch to imagine that Ibuki might not start up Raida at the same moment you startup Oroshi. If you start up first she’ll beat Oroshi with Raida if she is as little as 2F slower. If you start 2nd you’ll win since you’ll be immune for the whole startup and active frames of her Raida.
Munchi, a good night of sleep and a new start with a fresh head helps me when I experience similar troubles
Thanks for the replies! I will start working on my combos against the computer on hardest, and also play more matches. Adrenaline and stress is simply a killer right now for my execution. I guess I’m just at that annoying phase of the makoto learning curve (doubting myself under pressure). However, I am sticking with her no matter what! When played correctly, she is “hella fun.”
I’ve only gotten it to work consistently on Sim and Cody. All the others have been hit or miss. The timing seems really specific to get it to hit cross up.
How reliable is jump canceled Oroshi? Is this something that should be implemented in Mak’s game?
99% sure that doesn’t work. If I’m wrong, I’ll be happy.
In tips and tricks it said you had 4 frames to cancel your jump into it. Kinda like Gief’s jump canceled lariat. Maybe it only applied in Super? I’m at the gig and can’t test it.
Jump canceled lariat got ninja removed from Vanilla to Super, I can only guess that they made it so you can’t jump cancel any specials. Someone around the Makoto parts tested JC Oroshi extensively when Super came out and IIRC it was debunked.
If I lose 2 to 3 games in a row on ranked I usually stop and just go to endless. 2 losses in a row is enough to tell me that it’s not going to be a good day for ranked matches Once you hit that 5000 bp mark you really can’t afford to lose if you want to keep your bp high. I feel for you losing that many points, I’d be ready to kill someone.
I play nothing but ranked, so my point totals stay pretty low (I lose so much it borders on ridiculous). I just can’t make myself care when I play endless since there is absolutely nothing to be lost, though I will admit endless is far better for learning match-ups.
I don’t Treat either any different. I try to win every game while trying out something new but I lean toward endless more just because there more opportunity to grow imo because u dont have to worry about points.
imo lately i haven’t found any good players to learn match ups from in endless and ranked. so whatever i get in each one i just take it as a learning experience…good or bad.
points never matter to me…its a couple ppl on my friends list that got low points and beat the living fuck outta me lol
I grew up in the arcade, so losing a match meant losing money. NOTHING motivates someone to play as clean/hard as they possibly can when their own cash is on the line. Unfortunately, the online experience doesn’t motivate me the same way the arcade does, so I’m prone to taking really high risk chances because, in the end, I’m not really losing anything. Buy hey, if losing BP & PP actually mean something to you, that’s a good thing. It’s not even close to losing real money, but it’s better than nothing.
How exactly do you block Oni’s Demon Slash? I’ve tried to blocking it regularly and as a cross up, however; neither seems to work. At what point do I need to block which way?
you have to block it like a cross up. you was probaly doing it too late. space it out so it wont be so ambiguous to block
Ex slash is the easiest to block, and its a free Uc1/st.MP xx mp hayate/ex hayate/ex oroshi. Only HK slash is safe on block ( -1) the rest are -7 at the least.
