Isn’t Ex seismo the exact same except it doesn’t have throw invincibility or does that mean all invincibility ?
Just throw invincibility.
nice trade, I prefer the throw inv on the dp!
I actually like the throw invincibility on ex-seismo more than on the fierce thunder knuckle, but it makes more sense to be on f.tk.
It seems like all along it should have been that way from the start not having throw invincibility on your dp(if you can call it that) was more annoying then not getting thrown out of seismo.
The biggest effect I see the changes having is with her follow up after overhead. You used to have the option to throw or ex seismo but now you will get thrown out of the seismo so I personally will have to switch it up a bit.
If you know they are going to guess throw you can just bk instead.
Is anyone going to be able to play this in the arcade in the next few days ? if so test if FFF x Ex Seismo x mp tk x ex bk x ultra (phew) if that works we may be able to kill any character in the game with one combo and an overhead in the corner
Nope, damage scaling kicks in way too hard for that and the damage nerfs contribute to a lower overall damage. Im more interested in FFF - EX seismo - mp Tk - IA EX Bk - Fierce Tk. (The patchnotes said that a follow up was only possible after a fully connected EX burn kick). Should give you 900 stun with just 2 bars in 1 combo, cuz without Fierce Tk at the end you did 875 stun.
But the thing Im secretly hoping for is the beforementioned combo with enough time to do a st. RH instead of Fierce Tk. Not only would it be the most badass looking combo in the game, using super would be one of the most stupid things to do. But Im afraid this will never happen (maybe in MvC3 it will).
Mid screen ultra is currently character specific. If the 2012 U1 hitbox makes it universal and loosens the height and distance restrictions, she’s gonna be rocking bitches 24/7. Bad matchup buffs be damned. Do you know how sexy a reliable Ultra would be? All of you dudes complaining underestimate how much you avoid using or fudge her Ultra in tight situations.
I can taste the salt already. People will be kicking viper players out of endless lobbies like it’s going out of fashion. Mark my words!
THIS! I can taste that fuckin salt too. I also imagine stun situations that look much like someone being tied to train tracks, waiting for the train to hit them, cause I am literally going to run train. lol.
Cant believe capcom has nerfed this scrub character along with the twins and fei properly they not even proper street fighter characters they ignore the whole street fighter gameplay of footsies and strategy entirely.
Vipers the same she just got slight damage nerfs that’s it and as for being grab out of ex.seismo you can just space yourself outside their grab range and no more grabbing, wake up ex.seismo just got more risky but you shouldn’t be doing that in the first place. Also the buff of being able to U1/fp.tk after a full ex.bk can lead to new combos such as on Abel st.lp, st.lk, cr.lk, sjc ex.bk, U1 but this doesn’t really matter since she can just sjc U1 but if the combo FFF, ex.seismo, mp.tk, sj ex.bk, fp.tk works that’s 920 stun which means a grab or a overhead=stun and if you land this from a jump-in that’s automatic stun.
Fei Long is all about footsies but I do agree Viper and the twins and also El fuerte don’t really fit in how street fighter is supposed to be played but w.e.
How the hell is Fei Long all about footsies hes a random BS character just like all the other top tier characters in AE.
FFF - EX seismo - hjc, fadc- U1?
I do it pretty consistently so I think of it as a viable midscreen Ultra option…cant say the free Bk in between isnt nice. Viper already has 1 of the most reliable Ultras in the game if not the most reliable, with a lot of ways to link into it. On the other hand, any option select or punish involving EX seismo will hurt like hell.
Mad cuz shotos dont rule the game anymore? You need to stop with the hating and learn to play more fighters than SF4. You’ll find out that Fei plays pretty standard rushdown actually. His rekkas are just a great way to pressure people in this footsie heavy game.
FFF-EX Seismo-SJCFADC-U1 is not a mid screen U1 setup. EX Seismo-SJCFADC-U1 is but it doesn’t have the range of EX Seismo-BK-U1. EX Seismo-SJCFADC is also not one of her common Bnb’s.
How is it not a midscreen Ultra setup,it’s probably her main and most reliable setup to combo into ultra after a jumpin and FFF Ex seismo sjcfadc Sweep is her bnb for a punish midscreen or from a jump in midscreen.
Pardon for not clarifying, I’m replying from my phone.
FFF isn’t mid screen in the sense that you need to be in proximity. EX Seismo sets you up from nearly half-screen. EX SJC FADC is also not your average viper’s top bnb from an EX Seismo. Tacking on U1 at the end of EX Seismo-BK is just too easy in comparison.
You sound a little salty man this ain’t SF2 this is SF rush that sit down edition lol
I disagree, using sjc, fadc is just as much of a midscreen set-up as a srk - fadc - u1 is for Ryu. By your standards this wouldnt count as a midscreen set-up because you need be close. Also, a lot of Viper players choose not to use hjc, fadc because of the harder execution and the fact that you can push your opponent into the corner with a Bk. Others (myself included) choose hjc, fadc - cr RH because it does slightly more damage, a lot more stun and sets up for a 50/50 cross up (+option select or safe jump) meaning that if he doesnt guess right he’s stunned in just 2 combos. Especially now that j. Bk got nerfed in damage the hjc, fadc will be a must unless you have U1.
So I just played in the ranbats at South Town Arcade here in San Francisco, they got 2012 yesterday, so I got a chance to try it out. As many as well as myself have mentioned, she is hardly changed. Fights are slightly longer, but it really is not noticeable unless your opponent manages to block your mix ups. Truthfully, if your looking for CH setups, the damage is pretty unchanged. I think her momentum is slightly shorter, but now she has a tool in FP.tk to defend herself with. less reliance on EX-seismo, leads to more meter and thusly safe reversal attempts since you can fadc. You dont have to guess as much when you wake up. I haven’t gotten to check on exbk combos yet, but i hope to try later this week. Also even though its only been shortened by like 2 frames ex tk seems a lot faster, definitely usable.
This may be my imagination so please take this with a huge salt since I am probably looking for some other random change but I feel like ex bk feels a lot different. I think it maybe also starts faster, or maybe it was just the way it hit the opponent the one or two times I used it IDK. figured it would be worth mentioning in case someone else gets a chance to make a second opinion on this.
Anyways she seems almost better IMO.
